In a recent video with Shop TODAY, Brooke Shields shared what’s in her bag. (Remember that trend on YouTube?) She presented her milk-chocolate Birkin, and the first thing she pulled out were a pair of Rothy’s flats.
“I’ve been in high heels, so I’m going to take my high heels off and put my little Rothy’s on,” she said. “I always have a pair of flats in my bag—always—because I can’t wait to take my shoes off.” You can see the actress swap her nude heels for black Rothy’s Point IIs on camera.
Brooke then continued to share some beauty finds (like Commence leave-in conditioner and Lumi eye drops), practical items like Nice n’ Clean lens wipes, and even half a bag of Cheetos. (Love her for that!)
As someone who commuted from New Jersey into a New York City-based office for several years, I can relate to packing an extra pair of comfy shoes to give my feet a break after a long day. And I’m not surprised that Brooke opts for Rothy’s. They look classic, work well for casual and smart attire, and are known to be comfortable. The brand also claims each shoe is made with recyclable materials and that each pair is produced within Rothy’s own factory.
Senior Textiles Lab Product Analyst Grace Wu owns the Point II shoes and found that they fit to fit true to size. “I personally have always gone half a size up in pointed flats for comfort,” Wu says, “but I find that with this one, you can order them in your normal size as the knit fabric is structured yet forgiving.” They soles are supportive and the fabric is stretchy, which makes for a great combination for anyone with bunions.
Testers did find that the knit fabric made their feet sweaty—but luckily, you can throw them in the wash to freshen them up. Just make sure to separate the insoles, use cold water, and opt for the delicate setting. It’s also recommended to use a garment bag for extra protection and then let them air dry.
