John Stamos announced he was writing a new book on fatherhood.
The news comes less than three years after he published his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me.
John spoke about why it’s important to him to write a book about being a father, especially as he shares son Billy with his wife, Caitlin McHugh.
John Stamos is picking up his writing pen again—and this time, he’s opening up about one of the most important roles in his life.
It’s been about three years since the Full House star wrote his first book, If You Would Have Told Me, recalling his journey through some of the highs and lows of his life. The book also recounted the actor’s first years as a dad to son Billy, whom he welcomed with his wife of eight years, Caitlin McHugh, in 2018. While the memoir focused more on the actor’s rise to fame and all that comes with it, Billy made an impression on the actor in more ways than one.
As John revealed to People on March 12, he is writing a new book solely focused on fatherhood. And while it doesn’t have a title or a publish date just yet, John shared that the book will offer “personal and often humorous reflections on modern masculinity, fatherhood, and the lifelong process of growing up.”
“The book isn’t a rulebook about manhood—it’s a conversation," he shared with People. "I’m writing it as a dad who’s still learning, still asking questions and hoping that by talking honestly with other men about kindness, respect and courage, we can raise boys who grow up with both heart and backbone.”
Once the book news broke, fans jumped into the conversation online.

John isn’t focusing on just himself with his newest book venture. As he also told People, he’s planning to share the secrets of fatherhood from other well-known fathers. John wants to focus his talks with them on topics like “respect, vulnerability, and empathy,” while offering a “learning journey” for fathers and sons to undertake together.
