When Moana hit movie theaters back in 2016, fans immediately fell in love with the animated Disney film.
A love letter to the Pacific Island culture and traditions, the movie followed a young girl as she sailed beyond the reef to save both her island and her people. With the help of a demigod named Maui, Moana discovered the art of wayfinding and her true purpose. Couple that with an incredible cast, like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui, and an unforgettable soundtrack, and it was easy to see how people adored this epic adventure.
Now, 10 years later, fans can see Moana in a new way. A live-action version will show Moana (Catherine Laga’aia), Maui (The Rock, reprising his role from the 2016 film), and plenty more as they sail to the island of Te Fiti and restore the goddess’ heart.
