Whitney Leavitt is taking her career to new heights.

She made her debut on the Hulu series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in 2024, then competed on Dancing With the Stars and starred as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago.

During her final performance in Chicago in May 2026, Whitney shocked fans by revealing she was leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And as it turns out, she’s been teasing what’s next for longer than fans may realize.

Why is Whitney Leavitt leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

When Whitney spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026, she hinted at her possible exit.

“I'm figuring it out in real time,” she told the outlet. “We're figuring it out together, but it feels like that's the trajectory of where it's going. But again, I wouldn't be where I am without it, but it feels like it's time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I've been trying to get even before the show.”

Shortly after her exit was announced, Whitney took to Instagram to talk about her decision.

“I’ve seen a lot of conversation on my announcement, so I just wanted to come on here and share my thoughts,” she began in the clip. “Just to be very clear, I am finishing season 5. So, yes, I will be in that season. But also, yes, it will be my last.”

“[SLOMW] was not the path that I had envisioned in my mind to get to where I am today, but I wouldn’t change a thing,” she added. “I have experienced so much with this group of women, and in that process, I’ve also learned so much about myself. We have been through so much together—even more than what you’ve seen. We’ve had really big highs, really big lows, and no matter what happens with our relationships, that is something that will always be a part of my life. I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Shortly after Whitney revealed her TV exit, her family and friends rallied around in support.

“It has truly been an honor watching you evolve as a businesswoman, a creative, and most of all, an individual🥹 can’t wait to see what you do, love you, whit! 💓,” SLOMW cast member Miranda Hope wrote in the comments. “Onward and upward, whit!! Keep chasing [your] dreams!” Chase McWhorter noted. “You have great instincts. I’ve loved watching you trust yourself and your decisions. The future is bright!!” Whitney’s husband, Conner Leavitt, added.

What’s next for Whitney Leavitt?

“Whitney has a natural inclination to do everything,” her husband, Conner, told us for the September issue of Good Housekeeping. “It’s not a bad quality, but we can’t forget to take care of ourselves.”

But for both Whitney and Conner, sometimes taking care of themselves looks like leaning into their careers.

Back in December, it was announced that she will make her film debut as the star of the holiday romantic comedy All for Love, which is set to air later this year. In April, Whitney became the chief creative and brand officer for Cool Sips, a “dirty soda” brand.

The couple also revealed to us that their company, Leavitt Media House, is producing both scripted and unscripted series.

“I feel so incredibly blessed and grateful, but I don’t want to downplay how hard Conner and I have worked,” Whitney told us. “No one really sees the other side, the rejection and failures. It’s not that fun to watch. But it’s what led us here today. I just feel so blessed that we get to be Mom and Dad, and be in love, and be business partners. It’s everything and more.”
