Actress Ming-Na Wen will play the Greek goddess Hera in season 3 of Percy Jackson & the Olympians.
The Mulan star teased what fans can expect from her new role and how she’s looking to “humanize” Hera in her interpretation.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians season 3 premieres November 20, 2026, on Disney+.
Ming-Na Wen is stepping into the world of Percy Jackson & the Olympians—and she’s teasing what fans can expect from her new gig.
Season 3 airs November 20, 2026, on Disney+, and fans will get to see Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) take on another quest to save himself and his demigod friends. The new season draws from the third novel in the Rick Riordan book series, The Titan’s Curse.
Fans learned about Ming’s involvement with the fantasy series when she was cast as the Greek goddess Hera in February 2026. Ming says she felt responsible for making sure viewers see both the original Greek myth and the character they know from the books.
"You definitely want to be able to respect the mythology and what [Rick] Riordan has written,” she told us when she stopped by the Good Housekeeping office on October 5. “For me, playing Hera as an actor, one of my jobs is not just to play a villainous role. One of my jobs is to understand who this person is and to be able to justify what she does.”
As readers of The Titan’s Curse know, Hera wants to maintain her image with her fellow Greek gods while helping Percy and his friends.
Balancing Hera's two sides isn't easy—but it’s an element of the character that Ming’s excited to show.
“In a very weird way, even though she's a goddess, I want to humanize her,” Ming added. “So, I'm hoping to be able to bring, you know, a light quality of, you know, maybe a little finesse. She also has a little sensuality to her, and I think she's a very sensual goddess.”
We’re ready to tune in!
