My cousin lives downstairs from us, and she's a home chef. If we're going to have an Easter brunch, it's because she's willing to make the meal. Some years she's into it and some years she's not. Recently, I collected our mail and saw that she bought her dog, Rocky, an Easter bandana and a bunny toy. Hurrah! I took them to her and said, "So I assume we're doing the holiday?!"

I only have a catnip-addicted cat, Helen, who does not like to be dressed up, so I started to brainstorm other gifts I could get her and my cousin's cat, Harry. They both deserve something for putting up with Easter guests. These 11 gifts for your dog or cat all have five-star online reviews, including Rocky's new toy.

No dog toys are completely indestructible, but we give high marks to Outward Hound for making squeaky plush that dogs have to work to destroy. Online customers love this bunny for games of tug of war, but often say that their dog will cuddle with it, too.

This is the perfect gift to bring to an Easter hostess if she's got a dog, or several. They're flavored with ginger, which I didn't know dogs like, but the reviews say they're a hit. Speaking of special flavors for dog treats, there are also marshmallow-flavored Milk-Bone Peeps for dogs.

I already bought this for my grandkitty, Azula. We call it Egg Baby and she loves it as much as her Avocado Baby. I can see from reviews that she's not the only feline obsessed with these dangly-limbed toys, which might resemble bugs to cats. If we put it next to her she gets wide-eyed and activated! At night she carries it around in her mouth and deposits it outside the bedroom door.

This is Rocky's new toy. The ball squeaks and can hide in the bunny head for dogs that like hide-and-seek. Rocky also enjoys munching on the ears, and gets really excited if his mom tucks a treat inside the rabbit. Also from The Foggy Dog: Rocky's Easter bandana.

Cats can tear it up inside this springtime flower shop, a cardboard cat house that comes with catnip. Some assembly is required, but the pictures you can get of your cat in this are 100 percent worth it, at least based on online reviewers (please see their photos).

Pets might knock off a bunny-eared headband. They're more likely to stay in this soft tie-dye hoodie with floppy bunny ears. It can fit a dog or a cat (though my cat would never!) and gets high marks from the owners of both canines and felines. The costume comes in five sizes from small to XX large.

My Helen and Harry, my cousin's cat, are both catnip-crazy, so this is right up their alley. The feather on top is like the icing on the (carrot) cake. A carrot is perfect for Easter, but I've also recently discovered wool green beans with catnip that both cats love.

Is your cat a spoiled child? Give them the works, an Easter basket filled with new toys. It's got a crinkling goose, pastel springs (cats love the way they skitter across a floor), sisal balls, a catnip-stuffed egg, and more.

Spring means a return to playing outside. Give your pup the runaround by blowing peanut-butter scented bubbles for them to chase and pop. Not every dog takes to them, but looking over reviews, it seems like most really love the game.

Your dog stays engaged pulling the four white plush bunnies out of this carrot toy. Amazon suggests it for small dogs, though many owners with medium-sized dogs have left positive reviews.

When my patio warms up I buy Helen cat grass. She munches it like she thinks she's a jungle creature. This kit claims you can get grass to grow in the cute container in just a couple of days. If your cat eats more than just the tops of it or if, like me, you forget to water the cat grass, you can easily get refills.
