• Disney teamed up with Starbucks to release a limited-edition tumbler, inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • Released on August 22, the drinkware is exclusively available at the Disney Store.
  • Fans have reacted to the news with a mix of excitement and disappointment, as the drop has already sold out several times.

Disney and Starbucks boast some of the most devout fans and collectors in the consumer industry. From Disney pin drops to Starbucks Global Icon location mugs, fans flock to in-person and online stores to buy each brand's latest merchandise. But what happens when the two powerhouse collectors combine forces to create one limited edition item? A little bit of a frenzy, if you ask us.

On August 22, Disney released a one-off Starbucks tumbler inspired by the beloved film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Exclusively available at the Disney Store, the drinkware features images of Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero on the front, with Jack's signature stripes on the back. The tumbler is double-wall insulated, features a twist-tight cap, and comes with a matching straw.

This tumbler isn't the first time Disney and Starbucks have teamed up. In fact, Disney has an entire section on their website dedicated to Disney x Starbucks merchandise. So what's the source of the customer uproar, you may ask?

It has to do with last year's Disney x Starbucks Nightmare Before Christmas collab that seemed to sell out within the blink of an eye. Although the tumbler was restocked three times last year, it didn't stay on shelves for long, leaving collectors and Nightmare Before Christmas fans disappointed.

Many customers fear the same will happen again this year, especially since the first drop is already sold out. In an Instagram post on the Disney Store page, fans replied with comments like, "It's just going to end up like last year when nobody got through except for the Bots and bought them all up."

Another commented, "Resellers ruin it for everyone. I've [tried] getting my hands on the last 2 collabs they came out with no luck."

One commenter even pleaded, "Can we have a restock. I just found out today, and it’s already sold out."

In an effort to minimize the issues with stock and resale, Disney enacted a two-tumbler limit per purchase. While it's unclear when the item will be restocked, your best bet is to follow the Disney Store on social media, and check back on the site often.

And while the tumbler is sold out, there's a lot more The Nightmare Before Christmas merch to shop!
