I have been tracking deals for six years now and I know that as soon as November hits, the early Apple deals start dropping. AirPods are Apple’s second-most popular device (naturally, the iPhone is the winner), so I can bet that someone on your holiday shopping list has headphones written down this year. The great news for you early birds is that both the AirPods Pro 3 and the AirPods Max 2 are already on sale at multiple retailers.
In my experience, deals on AirPods often sell out during major sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday, which means I wouldn’t wait too long to snag them.

In our review of the AirPods Pro 3, GH Institute Senior Reviews Writer and Analyst Olivia Lipski says, “if you’re looking for better overall noise cancelling, exceptional sound quality and a more secure, comfortable fit, then it’s time to upgrade to the AirPods Pro 3.” New features on the Pro 3 include a heart-rate sensor, a longer battery life on the earbuds (8 hours, up from 6), and significantly better waterproofing, as they can be submerged for up to 30 minutes.
Otherwise, you’ll get the same standout features of the Pro 2, including the ability to use them as a hearing aid or a live translation device. I have the Pro 3s, and can attest that the hearing assistance (and the hearing test offered in the app) are incredibly effective. Lipski wore the earbuds in her multilingual household and said that “the translations came through quickly and were fairly accurate in my testing.”
For people who prefer headphones to earbuds, we’ve also tested the latest AirPods Max 2. These have 1.5 times more noise cancellation than the original Max, and like the AirPods Pro 3, they have live translation. Apple reports a whopping 20-hour battery life.
In her review, Lipski concludes, “They’re hands-down some of the best-looking headphones on the market, and a price tag can’t be put on how intuitive they are to use for those in the Apple ecosystem. Plus, they really do sound that good.” Right now, all five colors are on sale.
As Black Friday and Cyber Monday get closer, we’ll be watching the prices on these, and the new AirPods 5, which were just released in September. Those have yet to receive a significant markdown from Amazon, so stay tuned!
