- Amazon’s Big Spring Sale kicked off on March 25 (through March 31), offering some of the best deals of the year on Good Housekeeping Institute-tested tech, including a range of Kindles.
- The best Kindle deal we’re seeing is the Kindle Colorsoft at its lowest price ever. This rare 32% discount rivals the device’s deep Black Friday discount.
As someone who’s been using an e-reader since 2011 and regularly logs more than 150 books a year on her Kindle, I have years of experience tracking Kindle deals—and I know firsthand that they’re only discounted during Amazon’s biggest sales.
As part of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, which officially kicked off earlier this week and runs through March 31, the retailer discounted a handful of Kindle models. The best deal is on the latest version of the Kindle Colorsoft, the retailer’s first full-color e-reader, which is back to its lowest price ever. This rare 32% discount matches the device’s Black Friday price, and it’s likely we won’t see a deal like this return until Prime Day this summer.
I traded in my Kindle Paperwhite for the Colorsoft last year and can genuinely say that it has become one of my most prized possessions. In fact, I never leave the house without it!
In addition to the compact profile, waterproof build, long-lasting battery life (which can last up to eight weeks on a single charge), and space for thousands of books that we’ve come to expect from the various Kindle models tested by Good Housekeeping Institute experts, the Colorsoft boasts a full-color e-ink screen that levels up the experience of reading graphic novels or books with photos.
Not to mention, every time I use my Colorsoft, I’m wowed by the zippy performance (the screen is more responsive and the pages turn quicker than my Paperwhite). I also appreciate how the Colorsoft lacks lockscreen ads, while some other Kindles come with ads that cost an additional $20 to remove.
Although the Kindle Colorsoft isn’t the only Kindle on sale, at 32% off, it’s the deepest Kindle discount we’re currently seeing. Should you prefer a standard black-and-white model, we’ve also rounded up all of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale Kindle deals. Plus, you can also save on Kindle bundles that include device accessories like cases.
Are there any other ways to save when buying a new Kindle?
Yes! If you have any old Amazon devices lying around—whether its an older Kindle or an Echo that you’re not using—you can take advantage of Amazon’s trade-in program which will not only shave an additional 20% off your purchase, but will also net you a gift card for your old device’s value.
