We ate 102 Easter eggs and these are the best for 2026, from milk to dark
The winner might surprise you...
The Good Housekeeping Institute’s annual Easter taste test is back for 2026 and we’re confident we’ve found the best Easter eggs yet!
We were inundated with innovative flavours (pretzel and honeycomb anyone?) and show-stopping designs – from cute characters and bakery-inspired croissants, to gigantic ultra-thick ‘Ostrich’ eggs that will feed the whole family.
Our testing team tried all components, including any additional truffles, sweets, and hidden surprises. From budget-friendly buys for the all-important Easter egg hunt, through to ultra-decadent adult-only eggs, we’ve found the tastiest treats, made from milk, white, blonde and dark chocolate.

How we test Easter eggs
Our Easter tasting panel tried a whopping 102 milk, white, blonde, dark, free-from and vegan-friendly chocolate eggs this year across the adult and kids’ categories. Each was blinded to avoid brand bias (we literally blow torch off tell-tale branding!), and testers were asked to assess the aroma, rich flavour, creamy texture and appearance (with clear guidance on what to look for with each element), before awarding a final score.
These are the eggs worth the splurge for a cracking Easter 2026.
