If you've ever tried to buy a NeeDoh Nice Cube, you know the hardest part isn't paying for it—it's finding one. Pokémon collectors know the feeling, too, after years of chasing card restocks. But now, Walmart’s introducing a new way to get your hands on some of these hard-to-find products.
The retailer’s Collectibles Drawings give customers a chance to purchase in-demand toys, collectibles, and trading cards by entering a random drawing. Think of it as a raffle, except the prize isn't a free toy—it's the chance to buy one without racing everyone else to checkout.
The process is straightforward. Walmart announces a lottery for a particular product, along with its price and a limited entry window. Shoppers sign in to their Walmart accounts, select the item they want, and submit a free entry using their preferred payment method and shipping address.
Once the entry window closes, Walmart randomly selects eligible shoppers. One important thing to keep in mind: If you're selected, Walmart automatically charges your payment method and places the order. (Read: make sure you actually want the item before throwing your name into the hat.) If you aren't chosen, you won't be charged, and you can always try your luck with another draw.
Note that new drawings aren't necessarily held every day, and each product has its own entry period. You can find current and upcoming opportunities on Walmart’s Collectibles Drawings page, along with the entry deadlines and prices for each product. It's worth bookmarking if you've been searching high and low for a particular toy, especially with the holiday shopping season approaching.
