As an analyst in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab who regularly tests bras and covers the majority of our intimate apparel content, it's undeniable that some of the best bras we recommend are on the pricier side. While they're worth the investment (you wear them every day!), we still recommend trying to save where you can. That's why we recommend shopping for our top-performing bras on Amazon, which often offers exclusive discounts and sales, and allows you to save with convenient and quick Prime shipping.

Plus, several are heavily discounted for Amazon Prime Day, and you can buy some of our favorite picks for $20 or less!

Our top picks:

Of the over 200 bra styles my fellow Textiles Lab analysts and I have tested, quite a few of our favorite bras are available on Amazon. These bras also received top scores from over 500 consumer testers who wear sizes ranging from AA to H cups and 30 to 48 bands. Here are the best bras on Amazon in one place!

Pros

  • Perfect comfort scores from testers
  • Performed well in tests without major changes after washing
  • Full-coverage, smooth cups

Cons

  • Lace straps and embellishments weren't loved by all testers

Our best overall bra for comfort and support, the Natori Pure Luxe is a crowd-pleaser among consumer testers and GH editors and analysts, including myself. According to our data, the bra fits true-to-size and doesn't shift throughout the day.

The full-coverage molded cups offer light shaping and are invisible under most tops—the cut allows you to wear lower cut shirts without the bra peeking out, and the material is smooth, eliminating noticeable seams or rippling. In our stretch and washability tests, this style held up well without major signs of wear or shrinkage.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: Although it has performed well in our Lab tests for years, I was still skeptical that it could be as great as my coworkers and testers made it out to be—I was gladly proven wrong. This bra really is the best I've ever tried, and I have tested dozens of styles.

Testers with small and large busts agreed and rated it the most comfortable bra we tested, sharing that it fit true-to-size without shifting or gaping during the day. "The inside of the bra is super smooth and feels good on my skin," said one tester with a 34B bra size. Another tester who wears a 36C bra added, "I barely noticed I was wearing a bra because nothing dug into me and it stayed in place: straps, band and all."

Some testers noted not loving the lace straps and small charm between the cups because they thought the embellishments were too bold, but most testers didn't have the same issue.

Pros

  • Light padding for some lift
  • Crossed front for for smooth fit, lies flat against chest
  • Convertible straps to wear multiple ways

Cons

  • Some shrinkage in washability tests

Despite its affordable price point, this bra from Maidenform outperformed more expensive styles, earning a perfect overall performance score from testers (a rarity!). The adjustable straps and convertible racerback style make this a supportive bra you can customize for a perfect fit. We like the smooth fabric that aced our stretch recovery tests, as well as the lightly padded cups that aren't too bulky.

Note that while the brand labels it as a demi-cup bra, we found that it offers more coverage than expected, but it did shrink a bit when we put it through the washer and dryer for washability tests.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: "It doesn't gap anywhere, and it looks seamless under clothing," shared one tester, while another said, the "underwire and lightly lined cups held everything in place." One tester who wears a 34A bra size experienced no gaps or overflows: "It felt just right."

When I wore this one, I was particularly impressed by the criss-cross gore in the front, which helped the bra to lay flat against my chest. The underwire extended backward toward my underarm causing some discomfort, but no other testers experienced the same issue.

Pros

  • Testers gave it near-perfect scores for fit
  • Smoothing side panels
  • Rated as supportive by testers, even without underwire

Cons

  • Only two hooks for closure, some testers wish there were more for snug feel

The Warner's Olga Easy Does It Bra was a favorite of our testers and earned top marks for support, despite being wireless. The side panels are made with a smoothing fabric to prevent underarm bulging, but the stretchy material isn't overly restrictive.

With a hook-eye closure and adjustable straps with a U-shaped back design, the wireless bra is more like a traditional bra and less like a bralette. While off the body, the cups have a rippled appearance, but that all smooths out once it's worn on the chest.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: "It's the most comfortable bra I've ever worn," shared one tester. Overall, testers reported they would continue wearing it and even said they would buy the bra in additional colors. They also gave the bra high scores for staying in place and near-perfect scores for fit, sharing that it was easy to find the right size, even with the untraditional sizing (small, medium, large, etc.).

The caveat: The back only has two hooks, so some testers said the closure felt less secure than other styles with three or four.

Pros

  • Great value
  • Smoothing side panels that feel comfortable, according to testers
  • Wide straps for support

Cons

  • Some testers described it as "matronly"

Frequently a top-seller among Good Housekeeping readers and a favorite of GH testers, this bra from Vanity Fair is suitable for larger busts. It typically retails for $50 but is typically on sale for much less–think around half-price!

The full-coverage cups and sturdy underwires are designed to secure larger chests in place, and the wide, adjustable straps are helpful to prevent digging in at the shoulders. In addition, there are smoothing panels on the sides to reduce underarm bulging, and the material maintained its shape during our stretch recovery tests.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: "The bra is super comfortable and very supportive," said a tester with a 38C bra size. She added that the bra supported her while running down a flight of stars (read: no bounce).

Testers did say the bra looked more matronly than other styles they've worn and wished it were more stylish.

Pros

  • Convertible straps to wear as racerback
  • Breathable mesh inserts
  • Testers said it felt light yet supportive

Cons

  • Wireless design isn't as supportive as other bras

This bra from Hanes was the least expensive style in our test for bras for small breasts, but it out-performed other bras even triple the price. During Textiles Lab tests, the bra recovered to its original shape after being stretched for a standard time, and it experienced minimal shrinkage during washability tests.

The lightweight bra has lightly lined foam cups with mesh material between the cups and along the band for added breathability. Plus, the adjustable straps are convertible as well, meaning it's possible to wear the bra as normal or as a racerback style.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: Overall, testers found the wireless bra to be comfortable and supportive, and they loved the airy feel, with one sharing she forgot she was even wearing a bra.

Available in traditional sizing (like small, medium, and large), the bra is better suited for those with small cups because the cup volume can't be changed, and it's wireless.

Pros

  • Can reduce breasts by up to an inch
  • Performed well in Lab tests for washability
  • Testers said it felt comfortable, despite compression

Cons

  • Band could run snug

A favorite style for large breasts, this minimizer bra is designed to reduce the appearance of your bust size by up to an inch, according to Wacoal. The bra is one of the more expensive products in this guide, but its top-performing design features—including high-quality lace material with mesh lining instead of padded cups—make the splurge worth it.

The full-coverage cups and underwire extend upward along the breasts for support, and the straps are wide to keep them from irritating your shoulders. In addition, the U-shaped back helps the back stay concealed under clothing.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: Our consumer testers were fans of this minimizer bra, sharing that it fit true-to-size and the cups felt comfortable but not restrictive, even though its goal is to reduce appearance of your chest. The band can run a bit tight, according to reviewers, but we didn't note this in our tests.

When we've tested bras from Wacoal in the Textiles Lab, they've been top performers for durability, maintaining their shape after being laundered and stretched out. Wacoal is one of my personal favorite bra brands because it carries a variety of specialty bras, including minimizers, bras for uneven cup sizes, and bras for shallow tops.

Pros

  • Silicone grips to keep it in place
  • Testers said it felt comfortable
  • Performed well in washability tests without notable rippling

Cons

  • Fabric is rougher than other bras

Perhaps the most difficult style of bra to shop for, strapless bras must provide enough lift and support without featuring one of the most important features to help with the job—straps. There are removable convertible straps that can be added for a one-shoulder, cross-back, or traditional look, though.

This style from Bali earned its spot as the best overall strapless bra because it received some of the highest consumer tester scores. In our Textiles Lab tests, we found that it washed well without signs of wear; however, it didn't perform as well in our stretch recovery evaluations.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: "I typically can't stand strapless bras because they feel uncomfortable and slide down, but this one stayed in place and I even forgot I was wearing it," shared one tester who wears a 36C. Another tester who wears a 34D added that it doesn't give you that uni-boob effect of some strapless bras.

The majority of our testers said the bra stayed in place, thanks to the silicone grips lining the sides of the bra. And testers agreed that it fit true to size. Some testers wished the fabric were smoother, though, and the bra does come in limited sizing.

Pros

  • Offers half-sizes for best fit
  • Pleated straps that stay in place without sliding
  • Testers said it felt comfortable and didn't dig in

Cons

  • Fabric ripples in cups

Although a splurge at a tad over $70, ThirdLove bras are popular for their inclusive sizing which ranges from 32B to 44E and includes half-cup sizes. We appreciate that the brand offers an online quiz that helps customers find the best fit, in addition to the unique half-size options.

The T-Shirt Bra held up to washing during Lab evaluations but didn't perform as well in our stretch recovery test. Still, testers reported the bra stayed in place with regular use and washing, thanks to pleated straps.

WHAT TESTERS SAY "I love how soft this bra is which feels great on the skin," shared one satisfied tester, while another added, "I could easily wear it with almost any outfit, and it didn't dig into any weird places on my body."

One of my favorite bras, this one is completely unnoticeable under my tops. The cups are fuller coverage but have a unique cut that allows for a smooth look without spillage. Plus, my cup size is somewhere between a D and a DD depending on the day, so the D1/2 option is a game-changer for me. My one caveat: The fabric ripples after wearing, even before washing. It's not noticeable under cloths but looks worn.

Pros

  • Smoothing material
  • Comfortable wireless design that's not too snug
  • Wide straps for support

Cons

  • Runs small, according to the brand

GH analysts and editors are big fans of SPANX's smoothing undergarments that consistently perform well in our tests and are currently our best overall shapewear. This unlined bralette from the brand features a smoothing, all-hosiery back band, and an extra layer of fabric in the cup for sizes L and XL.

No wire means there will be no poking or prodding. While the straps are thick for added support, they aren't adjustable, which can be a problem if you're particularly tall or petite. SPANX also recommends shoppers size up, as the bras tend to run small because of their shaping abilities.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: Testers with small breasts reported the Bra-Llelujah! Unlined Bralette was flattering and didn't flatten their chests (a common complaint with bralette styles).

Pros

  • Up to one cup of additional volume
  • Smooth fabric feels comfortable against skin
  • Brand's bras perform well in washability tests without notable wear

Cons

  • Straps are thin, lacking support

Victoria's Secret is synonymous with push-up bras, and this one from Pink is meant to be an everyday version that looks and feels great under clothes. According to the brand, the bra can add up to one cup size of volume to your chest—the lift isn't subtle.

In addition to plenty of strategically placed push-up padding, the bra has an underwire for support and adjustable straps to help you achieve the best fit. When we've tested other push-up bras from VS in the Textiles Lab, they have performed well for washability.

WHAT TESTERS SAY: Testers appreciated that the brand's push-up bras stayed in place without shifting around or popping out of their clothes. In addition, they said the fabrics felt smooth and stretchy.

I've worn this style and many other push-up bras from VS over the years and truly can't tell the difference between wearing a regular bra and wearing one with the push-up padding, besides the added boost, of course. It's just as comfortable as other bras I wear. The one downside—the straps are on the thinner side, so they can dig in if you have a larger cup size like me.

Pros

  • Full-coverage cups made specifically for large chests
  • Testers liked feminine design
  • High ratings for comfort, support, and fit

Cons

  • Decorative bows can be noticeable under snug tops

Designed to support and shape an ample chest, this bra from Freya received top scores from testers who wear large bra sizes. We appreciate that the bra layers well under most tops because the neckline isn't too high cut, but the bows on the straps and between the cups can be noticeable under tight tops.

The bra also has a subtle, stylish pin-striped design along the full-coverage cups and wide straps. Note that Freya uses UK sizes so you'll want to consult the size guide to determine the best fit.

WHAT TESTERS ARE SAYING: Consumer testers wearing sizes D through G gave the bra high scores across the board, including for overall fit, comfort, and support.

"The bra was very supportive and held everything perfectly in place," shared a tester with a 34G bra size. Another tester who wears a 36DD said, "I love the design of the bra—feminine, flirty and cute."

How we test bras

linebreak

In the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, we test a variety of undergarments and intimate apparel including shapewear, men's and women's underwear, and bras, of course. We've tested more than 200 styles of bras over the years, amassing thousands of pieces of dat and feedback, which we analyze to choose our top picks. We consider both in-Lab testing and consumer testing.

We test all types of undergarments including women's underwear, shapewear, tights and hosiery and, of course, bras. In our latest tests, we evaluated 64 styles of bras and have amassed thousands of data points, which we analyze to determine the top bra picks. Our testing is split into two categories: in-Lab testing and consumer testing.

an analyst measuring stretch recovery for a bra
Good Housekeeping/Philip Friedman

✔️ Lab testing: During our Textiles Lab tests, our main focus is performance and durability properties. We conduct a standardized test in the Lab to measure how well each bra maintains its shape after being stretched our. We first mark the fabric and then stretch it to a set length for a period of time. Then we release the fabric and measure if it returns back to its original shape.

In addition, we launder bras according to their care labels for our washability tests, which tells us how bras will hold up to regular cleaning. We focus mostly on appearance post-wash and shrinkage.

✔️ Consumer testing: Along with testing bras in the Lab, we want to ensure that they actually fit and feel comfortable on real users. We share bras with a variety of testers who have a wide range of bra cup and band sizes, are from different age groups, and who have different body types.

Our consumer testers rate the bras for performance and appearance, considering factors like the overall comfort, fit, support, visibility of the bras under clothes, and ease of putting on and taking off the bra. We also ask consumer testers to share their likes and dislikes about the bras.

How to shop for bras on Amazon

double line break

It is becoming more common to shop for bras online, rather than in the store. Instead of trying on the bras in a poorly lit dressing room, you can opt to try them out in the comfort of your own home. When you're bra shopping on Amazon, there are a few things to consider to help you make a smart purchase:

✔️ Check the return policy to make sure you can get a refund if it's not a good fit (literally). Most brands adopt Amazon's 30-day return policy for unused items, but some brands have their own restrictions in place or may even offer a longer return window.

✔️ Review the size guide to ensure you're picking the best fit for your body. It's recommended to take your bra measurement every six months for accuracy, so be sure your bra size is up-to-date. Amazon carries a slew of bras from popular and lesser-known brands, including bras with US, UK, and Chinese sizing, so it's always important to review the individual size chart before buying.

✔️ Filter the reviews to see what other shoppers with similar bra sizes are saying about the bra. What works for a person with a small chest may not be ideal for someone with a larger cup size and vice versa. Instead of scouring through all of the Amazon reviews to find someone with a similar size to you, use the helpful filters to search for your specific bra size.
