You’ve likely heard of robot vacuums by now, given how common it’s become for a round disc to brush by your feet in pursuit of kitchen crumbs and pesky pet hair. Now, Ecovacs has introduced a new robot to the chat: a glass-cleaning tool that is taking cleaning to new heights. The EcoVacs Winbot W2 Pro Omni can climb vertically, cleaning your windows, mirrors, and more with ease.
I recently tried the gadget, and I think it’s the perfect tool for a thorough spring clean.
A winner in the Good Housekeeping Institute Home Care & Cleaning Lab’s 2026 Cleaning & Organizing Awards, the WinBot caught my attention with its sleek, minimalist design. I began by testing it on our Cleaning Lab’s windows, which are 10 feet high. The WinBot is battery-operated and does not need to be plugged in during use. I simply charged it, added the cleaning solution and pads, and the robot was ready to go.
I was doubtful the WinBot would make it to the top of the tall glass without falling ... but it proved to be the little robot that could! Moving in a smooth back-and-forth pattern, the Winbot sprayed a path of cleaning solution for itself and then mopped it up. It was easy to stop and start on the app, with deep clean and quick clean options.
After the ice and snow of winter, my windows are usually covered in dirt and dust by spring, which makes a deep clean necessary. The idea of cleaning my windows without the hassle and danger of a ladder was so exciting. Colleagues who walked past during testing were fascinated by the Winbot and stopped to ask multiple questions. It was highly entertaining to watch, and it cleaned efficiently.
The WinBot can be used on bathroom mirrors, shower doors, windows, and other glass surfaces. When discussing all of the places the WinBot could be used, my team and I realized it was a win for people with multiple-story homes, large storefront windows, or limited mobility.
The bottom line
The EcoVacs Winbot is a smart solution for tackling hard chores. Even after testing dozens of robotic cleaning devices in our GH Home Care & Cleaning Lab, I found it truly innovative and a worthwhile investment.
