As a bulk shopper, Costco always has what I need. A membership allows me to grab household essentials at my local New Jersey warehouse or online, and the savings can't be beat.

If you happen to be heading to Costco soon, keep the retailer's very own Kirkland Signature brand on your radar (The Wall Street Journal called it a "powerhouse" that accounts for a third of the company's annual sales). There are even tons of Reddit threads with Costco customers' raving about the brand's products.

That's why I'm sharing some of the best Kirkland items to add to your cart right now. The Good Housekeeping Institute's Home Care & Cleaning Lab recommends the liquid laundry detergent, plus there are pantry must-haves like extra-virgin olive oil (you get 2 liters for just $20.99) or comfy pima cotton sheets to refresh your bedroom.

Olive oil is a kitchen staple you never want to run out of, and you can't pass up this two-liter bottle for $20.99. I've used this mild extra-virgin pick off and on for some time now, and have found that it's versatile enough for baking salmon, roasting veggies, preparing pasta dishes, and so much more. Even our Test Kitchen rated it the best value oil olive in their tests.

Bonus: You can tear off a full or half sheet, depending on your needs. One online reviewer shared recently: "Best paper towels I've ever bought! They absorb so well and tear off easily in a select a size. I purchase in bulk so I never run out!"

Here's another pick that the GH Institute Cleaning Lab recommends. During testing, the Lab found that compared to other brands, it performed the best at removing stains out of polyester in cold water. It also did a good job of getting a tea stain out of polyester and cotton fabric.

Need more convincing to give it a try? "I love this detergent! I have purchased it several times, and it does not disappoint. It is great with removing stains, including grass stains out of a white shirt. It truly cleans your clothes and leaves them smelling great!" an online reviewer commented.

Considering the oversized 1.5-gallon jug, our Cleaning Lab suggests laying the jug on its side to pour the detergent into the provided measuring cup.
