After Testing 90 Bath Towels, These Are Our Favorites
We spent six years evaluating more than 90 bath towel styles in the Textiles Lab and in homes.
I've tested more than 90 bath towels in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, and as a fiber scientist, I'm picky about what earns a spot in my bathroom. At home, I usually reach for the Pottery Barn Hydrocotton Quick-Dry Towel because it's soft and plush without feeling too heavy, but I also love Brooklinen's Super-Plush Towel for its ultra-plush feel and exceptional absorbency. Both are among our top performers, but every recommendation below has been rigorously evaluated in the Lab and by consumer testers.
Our top picks:
- Best overall: Pottery Barn Hydrocotton Quick-Dry Towel
- Best value: Amazon Basics Quick-Dry Bath Towels, 2-Pack
- Best plush: Frontgate Resort Collection Bath Towel
- Most absorbent: Brooklinen Super Plush Turkish Cotton Bath Towels, 2-Pack
The other Lab analysts and I evaluate every towel for absorbency, drying time, softness, and durability. We test how well they hold up after repeated washes and combine our Lab results with feedback from hundreds of consumer testers who use the towels at home before making our recommendations.
