JELL-O is getting an upgrade that both parents and kids will love.

On Tuesday, the brand announced that it's launching an all-new line called JELL-O Simply, which comes in the flavors fans have known and loved for more than a century, only this time, sans synthetic dyes or artificial sweeteners.

The new JELL-O Simply line is made with real fruit juice for coloring and 25% less sugar than its other ready-to-eat gelatin line, the company explained. And best of all, this new category will be a permanent addition to the brand’s portfolio.

The new products address parents’ concerns

According to a statement from JELL-O, this update is all thanks to the increase in consumer demand for fewer fake colors in what they, and their kids, eat. The brand noted that "Half of parents are actively avoiding artificial sweeteners, and one in three ranks total sugar as their top concern. At the same time, consumers still crave the familiarity and joy of the brands they love." And that, they said, is where JELL-O Simply answers this call.

“We know families are looking for treats that strike the right balance between great taste and ingredients they can feel good about—and they don’t want to sacrifice the brands they know and love to get there,” Kathryn O’Brien, head of marketing for desserts at Kraft Heinz, the parent company of JELL-O, said. “JELL-O Simply delivers everything people love about JELL-O—the delicious taste, the iconic jiggle, and the vibrant fun—now made with no FD&C colors or artificial sweeteners."

What flavors are included in the new JELL-O Simply line?

JELL-O Simply Ready-to-Eat: The gelatin cups are made with real fruit juice, which comes in a four-pack in Orange, Raspberry Lemonade, and Blueberry flavors. It's available now nationwide for $3.99 per four-pack.

JELL-O Simply Gelatin and Instant Pudding Mixes: These products will be available nationwide in August 2026 for $2.24 per box in four flavors, including Vanilla (made with real vanilla), Chocolate (made with real cocoa), Banana (made with real banana), and Strawberry (made with real strawberry juice).

Kraft Heinz plans to remove more artificial dyes by 2027

This, however, isn't the end of JELL-O's reinvention and its parent company Kraft Heinz. The company explained that it's a part of its "broader renovation journey" to remove FD&C colors across its U.S. portfolio by the end of 2027.

“As a food company with a (more than) 150-year heritage, we are continuously evolving our recipes, products, and portfolio to deliver superiority to consumers and customers,” Pedro Navio, North America President at Kraft Heinz, shared about the larger project. “The vast majority of our products use natural or no colors, and we’ve been on a journey to reduce our use of FD&C colors across the remainder of our portfolio. In fact, we removed artificial colors, preservatives, and flavors from our beloved Kraft Mac & Cheese back in 2016. Our iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup has never had artificial dyes—the red color comes simply from the world’s best tomatoes." Navio added, "Above all, we are focused on providing nutritious, affordable, and great-tasting food for Americans, and this is a privilege we don’t take lightly.”
