When it comes to carpet cleanliness, I have a few factors working against me. For one, I live in a busy, walkable city. I also love red wine (a risky preference when it comes to stains). Plus, I have a cat. Need I say more?

After muddy footprints or pet messes, my routine was always the same: spray cleaner on the rug and scrub the stain with paper towels. But after finally trying the Bissell Little Green Mini, I don't think I'll be going back. (And now that it’s on sale sale for October Prime Day, you could give it a try, too.)

When I first got my hands on the Little Green Mini, I was skeptical at first (because how could such a small machine be so powerful and efficient?). But after a few running it over spilled red wine, the stain was gone within minutes.

It also worked seamlessly over dried-up muddy paw prints—a plus for city dwellers and pet owners alike.

I was genuinely impressed by how well it worked, though our Cleaning Lab experts have been singing its praises for a while now. In fact, the Mini recently won a 2026 Cleaning Award, and our team noted how it works just as well as the Bissell Little Green, our pros’ best portable carpet cleaner.

Like its larger counterpart—which also removed red wine during Lab tests—the Mini includes a combination of Bissell’s Little Green cleaning solution and water before you’re able to spray, scrub, and lift the stain you’re working with from the carpet.

Thanks to the stain tool that’s connected to a 4-foot-long suction hose, removing the mess is quick and easy. (Bonus: The hose has a self-cleaning feature, it’s also simple to freshen up the machine when you’re done.)

Plus, the Little Green Mini only weighs 7 pounds (nearly 3 pounds lighter than the original), so you'll be able to hold it one-handed as you move from room to room, or maneuver around your car's cramped interior. Since it’s compact, it’s also ideal for anyone living in a small space or dorm room.

Former Cleaning Lab Executive Director Carolyn Forté agrees: “It's as cute as can be and seems like a perfect choice for those without much storage space, apartment dwellers, or for those with few carpets or upholstered chairs to clean and for the car.”

Right now, the cleaner’s on sale on Bissell’s site as well as Amazon. But as someone who tracks deals for a living, I will say that I saw a deeper discounts at 20% last year during October Prime Day—but if you need it pronto, now’s a good time to shop.
