I have four kids and haven’t stepped foot in an ice cream shop for months—and no, I’m not depriving them. We just have the Ninja Swirl by Creami, and it’s made at-home soft serve so easy and so good that no one’s even asked to go out. Right now, it’s 20% off during Amazon's October Prime Day. The discount event, which began yesterday, October 6, will be live until tonight—and it’s the perfect time to add an ice cream maker to your kitchen setup.

This machine, a follow-up to the original cult-favorite Ninja Creami, is a countertop soft-serve and ice cream maker that goes way beyond your average ice cream maker. It can whip up classic ice cream, high-protein “CreamiFit” blends, fruity whips, soft serve and more—all with the push of a button. In fact, the GH Institute Kitchen & Cooking Lab named it the best soft-serve ice cream maker, noting it makes "excellent" sorbet. Plus, it's a Good Housekeeping Kitchen Awards 2026 winner.

The built-in swirl handle even lets you dispense your creations straight into a cone or cup, just like at your favorite fro-yo shop.

Amanda Fama, the senior deals and trends editor a Good Housekeeping, tried the machine and said, “My first job as a teen was at Carvel where I served tons of soft-serve ice cream cones. This machine is similar to professional setups that I’ve used in the past, and it makes delicious desserts.”

In my house, it’s easily our most-used countertop appliance, second only to the air fryer. I regularly use it to make protein “ice cream” with almond milk and Ghost’s Cereal Milk protein powder, plus whatever mix-ins I’m craving (Oreos, peanut butter cookies, or mini chips). And my kids are obsessed with the frozen yogurt I make by blending fruit with Greek yogurt—they don’t even realize it’s not real ice cream.

You do have to plan ahead by freezing your base in the included pint for 24 hours (though I’ve gotten away with 8 to 12 hours in a pinch)—and the machine isn’t exactly quiet during its spin cycles. But these are small tradeoffs for how fun and easy it is to make dessert.

If this sounds like something your family would jump all over, now’s a great time to buy it ahead of the holiday gifting rush. If you want more control over ingredients, a fun way to make dessert at home or just fewer ice cream shop runs, the Ninja Swirl is absolutely worth it—especially at this price.
