When it comes to skincare, Korean beauty is way ahead of the game—and K-beauty face masks add an extra boost to your skincare and offer targeted benefits, “such as hydration, brightening, firming, cleansing, and pore-minimizing,” says Good Housekeepin Beauty Lab Director Sabina Wizemann.

There are plenty of face masks out there, but one in particular just won a GH Beauty Award. It’s a gel sleeping mask by K-beauty brand Sungboon Editor, and it’s called the Deep Collagen Power Boosting Overnight Sheet mask. It’s designed to be worn overnight for plumper, brighter, and calmer skin in the morning.

Our Beauty Lab pros found it a standout Korean face mask for a few reasons (so much so that they named it the best pick in that category). They said the mask left the skin looking brighter while feeling moisturized and calmer. Plus, it felt like the right shape and size for the face—some face masks can be too big or too small, in turn affecting the way your skin receives the benefits—and it didn’t interfere with makeup application afterwards. Our pros also noted that the mask didn’t leave an unpleasant residue on the skin.

“Love this mask!” a tester said. “It is so easy to use, refreshing, relaxing, hydrating, and brings so much moisture to my face. This was my first time sleeping overnight with a face mask on and it was surprisingly easy.” They also said that the mask didn’t move or bother them throughout the night (which can be a common concern for sheet masks), and that their skin felt super hydrated the next morning. Other testers reported that their skin looked “dewy” with use.

Ideally, you’ll want to keep the mask on for at least three hours or overnight for all the ingredients (like collagen, niacinimide, panthenol, and adenosine) to fully absorb into your skin. However, our Beauty Lab experts say that it can be used for 30 to 40 minutes if you’re in a pinch. When in doubt, our pros stress to always follow the directions on the packaging for all beauty products for best results.

You can find the face mask at Ulta for $30, and you get six sheet masks per pack (that’s about $5 per mask).
