To celebrate 40 years of American Girl, the legacy brand has been branching out with fun collaborations lately, and their two latest drops were in partnership with Mattel (who, yes, has owned American Girl since 1998). The first release is with Fisher Price's Little People line, where you can find the first eight historical characters in the iconic figure form.

There is also a set of three new Polly Pocket compacts, themed to American Girl. Each compact looks like a book, but when you open the book up, you'll find a tiny bedroom for a Polly Pocket-sized American Girl! Adorable. (P.S. Speaking of collabs, have you checked out the dresses American Girl released with Hill House?)

American Girl x Fisher Price

Now let's break down the hot toys—or should I say collectibles? Eight classic American Girl dolls have been reimagined in Fisher-Price Little People form, including Samantha, Molly, Kirsten, Felicity, Addy, Josefina, Kit, and Kaya. While I think it'd be cute as heck to give the dolls to a preschooler, the brand says it's for collectors ages 13 and up (so more for tweens and adult fans, or "kidults".)

You can order the set now, but note that it won't ship until August 7. Like other Little People collector sets, we expect this one to become available on Amazon closer to the shipping date.

American Girl x Polly Pocket

playset featuring a doll and a designed room

This set of three tiny Polly Pocket Compacts each opens to reveal a themed bedroom, and each comes with the very smallest American Girl—Polly Pocket sized, aka micro-sized. The set is only available for pre-order now and will ship on September 3. The set includes the dolls and bedrooms for Kirsten, Samantha, and Josefina.

You can't quite tell by the photos, but these compacts are super tiny. Each is the size of a keychain charm! So while I previously thought mini American Girl Dolls were as small as the girls would go, I was wrong. You can find all items directly on AmericanGirl.com.

More for the 40th anniversary of American Girl

These toys are just one of many special releases in 2026. Back in February the brand released modern updates of six historical dolls. On October 13th, American Girl publishing will release a book about Samantha, for adults, billed as a "legacy novel." Samantha, The Next Chapter is available for pre-order now.

If you're looking for more American Girl for the littlest kids, there are also plush American Girl dolls for toddlers. The AG universe is truly widening, and I'm psyched for it!
