This year marks the 25th anniversary of Shrek (yeah, that makes me feel old), and to celebrate the occasion, LEGO’s first-ever Shrek sets were just revealed. LEGO is known for its collaborations with animated franchises like Disney and Pixar, so it’s high time Shrek got its due. On June 1, ahead of the release of Shrek 5, we’re getting two new sets featuring iconic characters like Shrek, Donkey, Puss in Boots, and Gingy. “That’ll do, Donkey. That’ll do.”

Your bookshelf will be a little more swampy with this trio of the franchise’s biggest stars. This elevated set is designed for the adult builder who has some major Shrek nostalgia from their childhood (a.k.a. me).

There’s Shrek, who stands nearly 10 inches tall, with Donkey and an appropriately small Puss in Boots in minifigure form. Shrek has an onion in his hand, because like an ogre, an onion has layers. The set also has Easter eggs tucked inside the characters that you’ll only discover as you assemble it.

Everything stands on a muddy-looking base, and is decorated with grass and flowers to make it look more sculptural. It’s a 1,403-piece set, which is very doable, even for beginners.

Kids can get in on the fun by making smaller versions of Shrek, Donkey, and Gingy thanks to LEGO BrickHeadz. I personally love the BrickHeadz line, as they’re chunky and sturdy when finished—and at around 100 pieces per character, they are a relatively quick build.

Designed for ages 10 and up, this set comes with all three toys, including Shrek holding a “Beware Ogre” sign, Gingy with a gumdrop button, and Donkey with posable ears. It’s under $30, and I think it’d make a fun end-of-the-school-year reward.

I’m hopeful that this is just the first of many Shrek LEGO collabs, as I’d really love a Fiona or Dragon set to add to my collection of LEGO builds.
