Lucifer star Tom Ellis is starring in a new CBS drama called CIA.
Ahead of CIA’s February 23 premiere, fans got to see a new promo featuring Tom and Chicago Med alum Nick Gehlfuss.
Tom spoke out about his character, Colin Glass, and how he interacts with Nick’s character, Bill Goodman, at the CIA.
Get ready, Tom Ellis fans: Your favorite actor is coming back to TV.
The former Lucifer star has been plenty busy these last few months, filming and promoting his upcoming CBS drama, CIA. And while folks are eagerly anticipating the series premiere on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET, they certainly didn’t expect to see a new Instagram promo from CIA ahead of time!
As viewers watched Tom’s character, CIA agent Colin Glass, team up with Chicago Med alum Nick Gehlfuss (who portrays FBI agent Bill Goodman), they saw the two’s unique dynamic unfold on screen. What’s more, CIA’s official social team teased how the duo’s different approaches to law enforcement will be portrayed throughout the season.
“Two agents, one intel drop,” read the caption. “CIA premieres Monday, February 23rd on CBS.”
As fans realized Tom’s latest project would be hitting the small screen sooner than expected, they immediately shared their thoughts online.
“Tom Ellis finally back on TV, I’m in!!!!” one person exclaimed in the comments. “I can’t tell you when I’ve been more excited for a show, it has to be the most anticipated show with every new clip, you can tell how awesome this is going to be,” another agreed. “I love this show already 🔥🔥,” a different follower added.
Now, this is an action-packed show we can definitely get behind! CIA will follow an FBI agent recruited to help a lone CIA agent with cases that test their loyalties to both agencies and each other. And if that’s not enough, Tom teased to Parade how Colin and Bill’s work relationship doesn’t come without its own challenges.
“I think the bromance grows out of the fact that Colin is convinced he’s not going to like [Bill] from the moment he starts working with him,” he told the outlet in February 2026. “He asks too many questions, and he’s so obsessed with the linear approach of law enforcement, which just does not work for the CIA … But then through action, through their journey together, they start to, despite themselves, like each other and realize that they’re quite a prolific team when they drop their egos—or when Colin drops his, anyway.”
Looks like we have a lot to take in when CIA premieres!
