Even after more than a decade, fans can’t get enough of When Calls the Heart.

When the season 13 finale aired on Hallmark back in March, viewers were eager for more from the residents of Hope Valley. Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow) and Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) finally got engaged, and the budding romance between Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) and Edie Martell (Miranda McDougall) was sealed with a kiss. What’s more, we found out who actually started that fire.

Now that the season is over, we have a big question on our minds. Will When Calls the Heart return for season 14?

Will there be a season 14 of When Calls the Heart?

In December 2025, Hallmark surprised viewers by announcing that When Calls the Heart had been renewed for season 14. The show also announced that Lori Loughlin will return as Abigail Stanton all these years after her last episode in 2019.

“BREAKING NEWS, #Hearties!” the caption read on Instagram. “Lori Loughlin will return, and that When Calls the Heart is renewed for season FOURTEEN.”

Upon learning this incredible news, fans took to social media to voice their opinions.

“This is why I keep loving this show. I hope it has many, many more seasons. 🙏🏻🤞🏻❤️,” one person wrote in the comments. “Oh my gosh!!! That’s awesome!!!” another cheered. “OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFEEEEEEEEEEE,” a different follower added.

Is there a release date for When Calls the Heart season 14?

As of right now, there is no exact date for when When Calls the Heart season 14 will premiere.

But the network did drop a surprise clue on Instagram in March. Along with the news that Lori is returning to the show, it was revealed that When Calls the Heart season 14 will premiere in the spring of 2027.

“2027 can't come soon enough, #Hearties! 💛,” the caption read. “There's so much in store for the next season of When Calls the Heart. What are you most looking forward to?”

When is Lori Loughlin returning to When Calls the Heart?

Even though it’s unclear when Lori will actually appear on the new season, fans do know that her character, Abigail, had a major role in the shaping of Hope Valley.

A widow of one of the men killed in the mines in Coal Valley, she eventually became the owner of the town cafe. Abigail also served as Hope Valley's mayor for a short time and was the foster mom to Cody and Rebecca Stanton. She left WCTH in season 6 to take care of her ill mother.

Melissa Gilbert, who played Georgie McGill in a recurring role starting in season 12, will not return to the show.

“Many people have asked if I will be returning to When Calls the Heart this coming season,” she wrote in a message on Instagram on July 16. “The answer to that is no I will not. I am told this is due to ‘budget issues.’ That said, I wish all my sweet friends in Hope Valley a wonderful and successful season 14.”

Do we know what When Calls the Heart season 14 will be about?

Like previous seasons, Hallmark is staying pretty quiet about what the next installment of WCTH will be about. But Jack teased that he’s excited for what Lori is bringing to the table in her triumphant return to the show.

“Lori Loughlin’s coming back to the show this year, which is awesome,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “She’s terrific, so, looking forward to season 14.”

Additionally, Jack commented on the legacy WCTH has had.

“It’s like you’re going back to school from summer,” he added. “That’s what it feels like, getting back to the set of When Calls the Heart. We’re all kind of pinching ourselves—I guess we’re all back in school this year, right? And we start in August, and we’ll wrap in November, and it’s just got this really great family-friendly audience that just loves this show.”
