Tracker is airing its season 3 finale on Sunday, May 24, 2026, on CBS.
Fans learned that Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Russell Shaw in the final episode of Tracker season 3.
The last time viewers saw Jensen on the CBS drama was back in October 2025.
Tracker fans, it’s time to see the Shaw brothers back together again.
As things wind down before the hit drama airs the last of its season 3 episodes on CBS, fans are eager to see what new case Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) will find himself needing to solve. And while Colter is familiar with getting into sticky scenarios at work (and in his personal life), viewers also know that, sometimes, his family can get in the way of him doing his job.
And it seems like we might see a little bit of that going on as TV Insider dished some juicy information about the upcoming Tracker season 3 finale airing on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
As the outlet reported on April 9, fans will see a familiar face pop up in the final episode. And who is it? Why, it’s none other than actor Jensen Ackles, who will reprise his beloved role as Colter’s brother, Russell Shaw.
As soon as the news broke that Jensen would be making a cameo at the end of Tracker season 3, fans were all riled up in excitement on social media.
“Oh yes! 5/24 Countdown is on! ❤️❤️❤️,” one person exclaimed on Instagram. “Yay ... finally. DVR is already set and can hardly wait,” another wrote. “Winning!! ❤️❤️,” a different follower added.
While Jensen hasn’t spoken out about his upcoming appearance, we do remember that the last time he popped up on the show was during the season 3 episode “Leverage” (which aired in October 2025).
And as far as what fans can expect from the finale, a press release from CBS notes that the installment (titled “The Best Ones”) will see Colter and Russell team up as they look for someone who was the victim of an evil research project.
Now, we don’t know for sure what this means, especially as Tracker is coming back for season 4. But we definitely need to tune in and find out.
