The West Wing aired on NBC for seven seasons from 1999 to 2006.

Actor Bradley Whitford spoke about the possibility of a West Wing reboot.

Is there a day we might see The West Wing back on TV? Bradley Whitford says there’s only one way it could happen.

The hit drama aired on NBC from 1999 to 2006, with fans enthralled by the inner workings of a fictional presidential administration. Bradley played Josh Lyman, President Bartlet’s (Martin Sheen) deputy chief of staff.

The West Wing continues to draw viewers on streamers like Netflix and HBO Max, and it’s easy to wonder whether the show could come back as a reboot. As Bradley told Variety at his star unveiling on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he’d step back into Josh’s shoes on one condition.

“I think there could be a limited series of some kind,” he said in a video on X on September 30. “I don’t know anything else.”

Fans loved the possibility.

“Oh for all that is holy please Brad do so!!!” one person begged on X. “Oh my sweet baby Jesus...do NOT tease me like that!!!” another exclaimed. “Omg ... I'll be waiting!!” a different follower penned.

Bradley isn’t the only one from The West Wing willing to see a new era for the show. Dulé Hill, who played presidential aide Charlie Young, also wanted the show to return—but said it was up to one person to do it.

“I always say that’s a question for [creator/writer] Aaron Sorkin,” he said in a separate Variety video interview on X. “If he writes it, then I will come. I think if he writes it, then we all will be there.”

We’ll cross our fingers for this one!
