Ghosts fans, get ready for something spooky ahead of season 6.
While the new season isn’t slated to air until early 2027, the show shocked fans on Instagram by announcing that two standalone episodes will air in 2026.
According to the post, a one-hour Halloween special of Ghosts will premiere on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. Then a one-hour holiday-themed episode will premiere on December 10.
“Mark your calendars... 👻,” the caption read on the July post. “A special two-episode Ghosts Halloween event is coming Thursday, Oct. 29 AND we’ll be back to celebrate GHOSTMAS with another two-episode special on Thursday, December 10th.”
Many fans were thrilled by the unexpected episodes.
“This gives us life! Some of us, anyway 👻 😛,” one person joked in the comments. “Can't wait for more Ghosts! These 2 specials will indeed be special! 👻📺,” another cheered. “You guys always nail the holiday episodes! Can't wait!!” a different follower added.
Others were upset that this was only a preview of what’s to come.
“Glad for the Halloween & Christmas episodes but still not happy that the new season won't be starting till 2027,” one person wrote. “Too bad we won’t be getting a full fall season 😢 but excited for these episodes!” another agreed. “These are great but we want our full season back. I love this show and I miss the cast! 😍,” a different follower lamented.
The Ghosts cast will participate in a joint panel with the cast of the new sitcom Eternally Yours at the 2026 New York Comic-Con on Friday, October 9, 2026, in New York City.
