New episodes of NCIS: New York air every Tuesday on CBS.
Star LL Cool J spoke to Good Housekeeping about whether NCIS: New York could do a crossover episode with another NCIS show.
Current NCIS spinoffs include NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney.
NCIS: New York just started, but star LL Cool J already has ideas about how it might interact with the other shows in the NCIS franchise.
The latest NCIS spinoff airs every Tuesday on CBS, and LL Cool J reprises his role as Sam Hanna. Given the franchise’s reputation for epic crossovers, it’s plausible that NCIS: New York might follow suit. After all, Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer on NCIS, made a guest appearance in the series premiere.
As LL Cool J told Good Housekeeping during a roundtable at New York Comic Con on October 11, he’s open to the idea—but he couldn’t share much more than that.
“That's more of a [co-creator/showrunner] Byron [Balasco] question, and we wouldn't tell you honestly yet anyway, because then that would ruin it!” he joked. “That being said, we're open to collaborating with the whole universe. Like, there's no show in the universe that we wouldn't collaborate with on some level, you know?”
LL Cool J made a crossover appearance on NCIS when Sam Hanna popped up on the original series for two episodes in April, directly setting up his return to the franchise on NCIS: New York.
The New York spin-off has LL Cool J excited to step back into Sam’s shoes.
“We’re still finding new things and exploring new things and being introduced to new aspects of the character,” he told People at the NCIS: New York premiere on October 1. “[It’s] so natural in the sense that I know who Sam is, but still new in the sense that I’m still being surprised every day.”
We’re so curious to see what’s next!
