There’s one hue that stands out for San Diego-based designer Kira Young for 2027: yellow. “Timeless colors are on the rise, and I’m not talking white, blue, or green, but this perfect sunwashed yellow like Goldtone by Benjamin Moore,” says Young, founder of High Tide Design. “It adds warmth, coziness, and a fresh-take on classic color to a bedroom. If you don’t love color drenching but also don’t love just a white wall either, this is my-go-to.”

Shades of green stand the test of time, whether they’re used in a living room, kitchen, or nursery. “Just like nature, the color green is timeless, gender-neutral, and never goes out of style,” says Amber Guyton of Blessed Little Bungalow. “I love colors like Sherwin-Williams' Basil, Behr's Sage Green, and Benjamin Moore's Vintage Vogue. They are moody, neutral, and beautiful all at once, and they universally work for any interior or exterior space.”

“Bold,” “modern,” and creativity” immediately come to mind when designer Autumn Pochiro thinks about trending paint colors for 2027. Fuchsia, which, she says, complements hues like turquoise and blue-green, is the perfect example.

“I choose colors based on the mood of each room. For example, my own closet is painted in fuchsia, and its bright color gives me energy every day. Although the space is small, it feels creative and whimsical,” says Pochiro.

More and more homeowners are “becoming more confident using rich, expressive color,” says Charlotte-based designer Ashley DeLapp, who says inky navy, paired with deep sapphire accents, tops the list.

“The contrast is what makes these colors feel modern. Dark, enveloping walls allow the brighter jewel tones to glow rather than compete. Jewel tones have a timeless quality, they create interiors that feel collected, personal, and unapologetically full of character,” DeLapp shares.

Behr

Nature-inspired greens will be all the rage in 2027. Behr’s Grounded, its 2027 Color of the Year, is the perfect example. The mossy olive hue features brown undertones that can work well for living rooms, kitchens, and more.

“Grounded doesn't feel precious, which is one of the things I really like about it,” says interior designer and Behr Paint ambassador Sabrina Soto. “It has this earthy quality that works beautifully with the things we actually live with.”

Sherwin-Williams' White Truffle is a go-to for designer Marie Cloud, who says the shade adds warmth to a room and works well when paired with deep hues.

“There is a rosy taupe sitting underneath it, so it stays warm at every hour of the day instead of going flat and gray at four in the afternoon the way most greiges do,” says Cloud, founder of Indigo Pruitt Design Studio.

Expect to see more medium-toned blues like the high-gloss pick designer Nancy Davilman of ND Interiors chose for this entryway.

“Both the color and the gloss finish help to echo the feeling of the sun hitting the water,” says Davilman of this home, which is located near the water. “The topper was that we applied gold leaf to the ceiling and crowned it with a light that looks like the sun.”

Dark yet warm, Benjamin Moore’s Vintage Vogue is a paint color to watch, according to designer Kelsey Matyas of Kelsey Deirdre Designs.

It’s moody without feeling overly bold, making it the perfect way to bring color into an otherwise neutral home while still keeping the palette grounded and timeless,” Deirdre says of the smoky green. “I especially love it in spaces where you want to create a sense of atmosphere, like a den, bar room, powder room, or cozy library.”

If there’s one color that can add “warmth and depth” to a space, it’s citrine, says designer Jeanne Hayes of Camden Grace Interiors, who’s partial to Benjamin Moore’s Citrine.

“We love using it in a way that feels unexpected, like we did on these laundry room built-ins where it adds personality and creates a beautiful backdrop without overwhelming the room,” says Hayes. “It’s exactly the kind of nuanced, livable color we’re excited to see more of in 2027.”
