We regularly watch out for any and every of Meghan Markle’s looks, as she successfully mixes everyday casual with polished and refined each time. One of her latest looks involves a classic striped blue button up and crisp white jeans—but the star of the show were her shoes—and they were probably the most unique white sneakers I’ve ever seen.
The Duchess of Sussex was visiting Australia with Prince Harry, stopping by Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra along the way. In a special sailing event that took place in Sydney Harbour, Meghan was photographed wearing white cutout sneakers that are designed to expose a small part of your foot (think of a slip-on shoe with a deep V-shape on each side).
We quickly identified the sneakers as the Eda D’Orsay Sneaker from Freda Salvador. The Italian leather shoes are handcrafted in Spain, and you can get them on sale today at 20% off. (They’re still a little pricey, though, at $238.) You can also shop them in three additional colors, including Blush Suede, White Calf With Shearling, and Black Calf With Shearling—but none of these limited-edition styles are discounted.
From what we’ve seen from pictures, these were the perfect shoes to wear that day. Meghan spent the day walking along the boardwalk, greeting a large crowd, and riding a police boat to a yacht. I’m sure the cutout design let her feet feel more free and breezy.
If you want a more affordable alternative, I found a cutout design that’s pretty similar from Lucky Brand, and you can find it on Amazon. They’re also a fraction of the price at $42. Per the brand, these Dansbey sneakers use real and synthetic leather (the real leather is in the upper)—so this isn’t a bad deal for the price. You can get them in sizes 5 through 12.
Additionally, check out a few other styles beloved by our experts and editors. Also, if you’re clumsy like me, I totally recommend reading our guide to keeping white shoes clean.
