I’ve spent the past two weeks covering early Prime Day deals, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this deal made my jaw drop. I know you’ll think I’m just writing that, but I truly, genuinely, wholeheartedly got so excited when I saw our top-tested luggage set was 64% off for Prime Day. If it wasn’t obvious, I am very excited about the Samsonite deal, but the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles, Apparel & Paper Lab pros most recently tested over 100 suitcases from more than 70 brands—and some of the top performers are on sale right now. These luggage discounts won’t last long, since October Prime Day is only two days (October 6–7). So, if you’re going on a trip soon or need an upgrade after traveling all last summer, don’t put off shopping these deals.

Both are durable, have a sturdy telescopic handle, fit tons of clothing, and are easy to maneuver around the airport. All in all, both of these suitcases are stellar, and it’s a whopping 64% off—so I’m in disbelief. I use my Samsonite carry-on on every trip, including a vacation to San Francisco and Utah, and it fit all my clothing for the week despite needing tons of outfits for the two different climates.

I was extremely excited when I got a Vera Bradley lunch bag as a tween, and I’m not afraid to admit that I still love the quilted, colorful patterns the brand is known for (they’re cutesy!). Yes, Prime Day is a great time to buy luggage. Lexie Sachs, executive director of strategy and operations at the GH Institute, says, "Many of our top-tested luggage brands are available for purchase at Amazon, and we've seen them heavily discounted during Prime Day." Sachs continues, "Since luggage is an investment, it's a great time to take advantage of the deals on items you can continue to use for years."
However, while Prime Day is an excellent time to buy luggage at a discount, you might find even better deals—which Sachs calls "substantial"—during Black Friday (that is, if you're willing to wait).
