For many of us, our hair can feel like something of a safety blanket. Sheridan Smith, however, has never been particularly precious about her locks. Over the years, the actress has proved she’s not afraid of a dramatic hair transformation. Even so, her latest look had us doing a double take.
Yesterday, Sheridan unveiled a new, dramatic makeover in a video shared to Instagram, trading her brunette lob for a look that takes her hair in a completely different direction.
The 45-year-old actress appears to have taken her hair dramatically shorter, showing off a choppy pixie cut. Landing at the top of the jaw, the style shows off her incredible cheekbones. But the cut is only half the story — it’s her bold new cherry-red shade that leaves her looking almost unrecognisable.
While she’s no stranger to a bold makeover, Sheridan and her close friend Charley Webb appear to be having some fun with filters in the clip. So, whether the cherry-red shade is the work of a salon or a bit of digital magic remains a mystery.
However, the shade certainly wouldn’t be out of character for Sheridan. After all, she’s never been afraid to experiment with colour. From lilac to fiery auburn, the actress has tried her fair share of bold hues over the years.
In fact, this wouldn’t even be her first affair with cherry red. Fans who have followed Sheridan’s many hair transformations may remember her brief stint with the shade back in 2019.
