This 4-ingredient banana bread cookie recipe melts in the mouth and takes just 10 minutes to prep
Treat yourself with these speedy gluten-free and naturally sweetened cookies.

We love rigging up these super-simple cookies when we’re in need of a wholesome sweet treat. Naturally sweetened with ripe bananas, you can ditch the chocolate to make it added-sugar-free and replace with spices such as cinnamon or mixed spice.
Ingredients
- 50 g walnut halves
- 1 large very ripe banana (approx. 150g)
- 140 g ground almonds
- 60 g milk chocolate chunks
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C) gas 5. Add the walnuts to a baking tray and toast for 10min in the oven. Remove, cool slightly then chop, making sure there are no large chunks. Leave to cool completely.
- Step 2In a large bowl, mash the banana into a puree. Add the ground almonds and fold through. Add the nuts and chocolate chunks and fold through to combine. Line two baking trays. Use a spoon to scoop the dough and using lightly dampened hands, roll into balls – you should have 12 in total. Transfer to the baking trays and use your fingers to press them down until they are approx. 1cm thick.
- Step 3Bake for 16-18min until golden brown around the edges and firm on top. Leave to cool on the tray for 5min before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
GH TIP: The riper the banana, the sweeter the cookie, so don’t be too quick to chuck overly ripe bananas out – they will provide the best flavour.
