Sort Your Life Out presenter Stacey Solomon can usually be found organising people's homes on TV or letting us in on her behind-the-scenes life with husband Joe Swash and five children in her hit series Stacey & Joe. But recently, she has also shared that she’s taking her health and fitness seriously, too, telling her followers on Instagram that she ‘just got my head down’ and concentrated on strength training.
‘My body looks a little different to last year’s summer holiday,’ she said. ‘I’m actually so proud of myself because I’ve stuck to my weight training consistently.’
The former GH cover star revealed how she ‘kept quiet and just got my head down and kept going’, saying: ‘I genuinely only do it because I want to be so strong. Like boss b*tch strong. I want to forever be able to pick up my babies with ease and carry double buggies on my shoulder when necessary.
‘I feel so much stronger this year, which is so empowering, and yes, my body has changed, but honestly I loved my body aesthetically last year as much as I do this year. I’ve always been beautiful, no matter what shape or size. So I suppose what I’m trying to say is… Don’t commit to fitness just for the looks. Do it so you can wrestle your 17 year old and carry all three of your toddlers in 40-degree heat. You’ll enjoy the journey more.'
Stacey, 36, also shared an insight into her workout routine with a video of her first ever pull up – and a caption detailing how her fitness has been transformed by the simple move.
She captioned the post: ‘I did my first ever pull up... I’m marking this day. I feel like I’m basically The Rock now. I don’t want to hear anything about poor form blah blah – I pulled myself up! That’s a win! Six months ago I could barely hang on the bar for 10 seconds.’
