She's recently found love again with musician John Zambetti – but that’s not the only thing injecting some youthful vigour into Jane Seymour’s life. The actor has a whole new generation of fans on social media – and is embracing the power of TikTok to communicate with them.
‘I thought no one on TikTok was going to care about someone my age, but they did – in their millions,’ Jane tells Hello! saying that the app, where her videos can get more than two million views, makes her feel youthful. ‘Now I have a following, and I do some very silly things, but it is fun, and I can put a smile on the faces of women my age or younger.’
A former dancer, Jane’s TikTok’s see her in front of the camera, twirling in beautiful dresses and glowing with health and vitality. The 75-year-old recently shared that she usually eats just one big meal a day, adding snacks here and there. ‘At lunchtime, I have a full meal because then I can really enjoy it,’ she told the Daily Mail, saying that she usually skips breakfast apart from a cup of coffee. Fish and vegetables are a big part of her diet.
Jane stays fit with Pilates and yoga, opting for them over higher-impact training. As a former professional dancer, she knows the value of low-impact workouts to protect her joints, telling Hello! magazine: ‘At this age, I’m looking around me at all the people I know who run, and they’ve had knee replacements, hip replacements or shoulder replacements.’
Posting on Instagram, Jane showcased her morning workout, which includes Pilates. She’s a huge fan of the Gyrotonic Method, which uses principles from yoga, dance and martial arts to enhance strength and mobility. ‘Starting the day with @gyrotonic and Pilates with weights workout always leaves me feeling strong, centred, and ready for whatever comes next,’ says Jane. There’s something so powerful about taking that time for yourself.’
