The best storage bench seats to invest in this year
Practical, chic and clever storage solutions for your home.
The perfect dual-purpose furniture, a storage bench seat is designed to transform any space, as well as become an inviting place for people to sit. Previously designed to only be placed in a hallway, a storage bench can also be a practical yet stylish addition to any living room or bedroom too.
Storage bench seats are ideal for storing shoes, blankets, bedding and much more. Purchasing one will immediately make your space feel tidier, and will be another place for you to store any clutter.
With plenty of different styles to choose from, ranging from trendy ottomans to classic wooden variants, there is design to suit every home. If you're wondering what makes an ottoman different to a storage bench seat, an ottoman is an upholstered storage bench, whereas a normal storage bench does not have to be upholstered.
With that mind, when buying a storage bench it's important to consider what you need your storage bench seat to do for you and your chosen space. Homes Design Stylist Wil Law at John Lewis says: "These are hardworking items that can be useful in most rooms. You can use one as a place to take your boots off by the back door, or in a utility room, or opt for one in a child's bedroom as a mini reading nook."
You should also consider how a storage bench could also be a great way to add some textures or bright colours into your home. Interior designer Kelly Collins, Head of Creative at Swyft Home says:"I’m seeing a lot of burnt oranges, hot pink and mustard colours trending and these pops of bold colour make a fantastic impact. Sage green is also another, more muted but equally warming and effective colour option. In terms of material, flat velvet or linen fabrics are both timeless, and effective, plus they sit well with almost every other material to create a really cohesive look in your living space."
With this in mind, we've browsed the internet to find you our 15 favourite storage benches that will maximise your space and look fabulous in your home.
