An episode of Peppa Pig has been banned from airing in Australia. Again.

It's a sentence we never thought we'd write, but an episode titled 'Mister Skinny Legs' has been pulled from Australian television for the second time, after suggesting that spiders are harmless.

And, obviously, some of them in Australia are certainly not harmless.

According to The Guardian, Peppa and Daddy Pig offended the nation by suggesting that spiders are merely 'very, very small' and 'can't hurt you'.

In a move that has angered parents Down Under, the children (piglets?) are then seen picking the spider up, tucking it into bed and offering it some tea.

All things that you wouldn't want your child doing with a Sydney Funnel Web, we're sure you'd agree.

The episode, which was originally pulled from ABC's website in 2012, aired last month on the kids' TV channel Nick Jr, before it was promptly cut from schedules.

After a mother complained to the channel that it was encouraging children to pick and play with potentially dangerous spiders, the network initially refused to pull it.

Explaining that Mister Skinny Legs 'did not look real', Nick Jr insisted that the message is about respect and that the spider's "smiley face" would emphasise its fictional nature.

Fortunately for children (and spiders) across the country, the channel eventually obliged and removed the episode from its programming rotation.
