With Spring just around the corner, the big Spring clean is probably on a fair few minds. If the thought of tackling the whole house fills you with dread, here’s another option…

Handy is a company that has a network of pre-screened independent service professionals, who offer everything from home cleaning to furniture assembly and interior painting. Simply go online to the Handy website, choose the service you’re after and then fill in a quick form detailing your postcode, house/flat size and date/time required to get a quote. The services are available from 7am – 9pm, 7 days a week – so perfect if you’re at work during the day and can only manage weekends or evenings.

We tried out the handyman service recently for general tasks around the home and found it to be a quick and easy experience. It took less than a minute to book online and there were no issues with the date and time that we requested. I received text messages and a phone call from the handyman prior to his visit, which was great for peace of mind. He finished the tasks I had requested in the time slot I had booked and it was completed to a high standard.

Handy services are currently available in London, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol and Manchester but there are plans for a larger network across the UK later this year. Prices for Handy cleaners are at a flat rate of £10 per hour; handyman prices start from £25 per hour in the Greater London area. There is free Handy app available on iOS and Android.
