Igloo has been making coolers since 1971, and they’ve built a reputation for being affordable while still delivering solid performance. They also continuously test well in our Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen & Cooking Lab—especially the Trailmate line, which regularly lands top spots in our best cooler roundups for both performance and ease of use.
They’ve also kept things interesting over the years, rolling out unique updates like models made with recycled materials that still hold temperature just as well, plus versions with built-in speakers or even designs that don’t require ice at all.
So when I spotted their latest at a press preview, I literally did a double take: a hot pink cooler with smooth, spinner-style wheels and an extendable handle like a rolling piece of luggage.
The new Tag Along Too Spinner Cooler has a 20-quart capacity and can hold up to 33 12-ounce cans or four wine bottles standing up. It also has a small dry bin for snacks.
While not part of our usual Lab tests, I rolled it along several NYC blocks, down subway steps, and back up again on an escalator to my office. It rolled smoothly and was easy to lift over big curbs and stairs. It’s not as heavy-duty as some other coolers I’ve tested, like the Yeti Roadie with oversized wheels, but it’s lighter and easy to sling over your shoulder when needed. Overall, it’s a great size for picnics, soccer snacks, or hauling groceries between homes.
Other features stood out, too, like the hinged lid that stays open (and attached) when you’re rummaging around, and a gasket around the lid for a soft close and a tight seal. There’s also a drain plug located on the back of the cooler for draining and cleaning.
The one downside? The wheels may not perform well on sand, but the design is intended for sturdier terrain.
The Tag Along Too Spinner Cooler costs $129.99, and also comes in Lagoon Teal and Dusted Grape colors. Smaller versions are available without wheels.
