the number one question visitors to the Good Housekeeping Beauty and Personal Care Lab ask is, “which anti-aging product really works?” Thankfully, I’ve just completed a four-week test of anti-aging serums to find the best of the newest anti-aging serums on the market and provide some fresh recommendations. To determine which anti-aging serums really work, I recruited testers ranging from 35 to over 75 years old to participate in a four week test, complete with before and after photos and skin firmness measurements.

Our top picks

After looking at all the data, I’ve found anti-aging serums that really deliver, like our top pick from L’Oréal that boosts skin firmness, and our skin-refining pick from Dr. Dennis Gross that improved the appearance of pores. Below, find a Lab-tested serum to tackle any concern of aging skin.

Age Perfect Serum Le Duo

Pros

  • Firmed skin by 4.7% in our test

What made it a winner: The top performer of our most recent anti-aging serum test, this serum firmed testers’ skin by an average of 4.7% in our test. Our testers also said it softened and hydrated their skin and made it look radiant.

This affordable serum dispenses two anti-aging formulas at once: one with a collagen-supporting peptide and the other with niacinamide and stabilized vitamin C for evening skin tone. This serum is fragranced, which some testers didn’t prefer.

Testers said: They noticed a difference in their skin, saying “it made my skin look smoother and brighter” and “my skin felt a bit different to the touch, a little denser and smoother.”
