As a full-time shopping editor who tests products for a living and a perfume collector (seriously, I have more than 50 bottles at home), I'm extremely picky about my fragrances. So when I heard that Bath & Body Works added some new designer scent dupes to its popular Everyday Luxuries collection—including Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, one of my all-time favorites—I had to see how they stacked up to the real deal.

For the uninitiated, Everyday Luxuries is Bath & Body Works' line of designer-inspired body mists—and it's also the subject of much debate on TikTok and Reddit. Sleuthing fragrance fanatics like myself can't stop guessing about which pricey scent inspired these under-$20 sprays. (Hint: one of the alleged original fragrances includes Delina by Parfums de Marly, which costs $410 per 2.5-ounce bottle.)

To help me sniff out which new Bath & Body Works fragrance mists are worth the hype, I recruited six of my fellow editors to help review them. We individually rated each scent from 1 to 10 (with 10 being the best) and gave honest feedback about the scent profile and wearability of each fragrance mist. Then, I averaged out the scores for a definitive ranking—and the winner was honestly surprising.

Rating: 6.8/10

Notes: Coconut milk, tropical lily, and vanilla sandalwood

Inspired by: Nest Balinese Coconut

Editor reviews:

  • "I surprisingly liked this one for someone who doesn't love coconut. It was very subtle and I actually think I would wear it."
  • "This smells nostalgic; like sunscreen and a little plasticky, but I kinda love it. The scent doesn't last long at all, so I'd definitely want to layer it with something heavier for a little more oomph."
  • "Smells very beach-y and summery. It would be a good scent for beach days and vacations!"

Rating: 7/10

Notes: Sugared pink pepper, warm neroli, and whipped marshmallow

Inspired by: Kilian Paris Love, Don't Be Shy

Editor reviews:

  • "As a long-time Kilian fan, this one fell short for me. It does smell vaguely similar, but it doesn't have that fluffy, marshmallow-y quality."
  • "I mostly get orange blossom rather than marshmallow. It doesn't smell super similar to the original, but it's nice as a standalone scent."
  • "While it's definitely no replacement for Kilian, it has the same essence at less than a quarter of the price."

Rating: 7.6/10

Notes: Shimmering pear, rose petals, and cedar musks

Inspired by: Dior J'Adore

Editor reviews:

  • "The rose and cedar notes make this one smell really sophisticated to me."
  • "Kind of has a romantic Bridgerton vibe, it feels very spring-appropriate, but perhaps a bit too stuffy for my personal taste."
  • "If you like sweet floral perfumes, just go ahead and add this one to your cart. Though it's not as sophisticated as J'Adore, you'll definitely pick up on the distinct scent of rose petals."

Rating: 8.6/10

Notes: Dewy bergamot, warm sage, and salted driftwood

Inspired by: Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt

Editor reviews:

  • "Not a 1:1 swap for Jo Malone, but I like the scent! It's very salty and woodsy, like sitting on the sand and listening to the waves after a late-night swim."
  • "Love this one. So refreshing. Legitimately smells like a day at the beach."
  • "I wear the Jo Malone version of this pretty often, so I really like this! It smells a bit stronger and more feminine than the original."

Rating: 9/10

Notes: Sparkling citrus, bright apple blossom, and golden mimosa

Inspired by: Clinique Happy

Editor reviews:

  • "This smells exactly like the OG and takes me back to walking around department stores with my mom. So nostalgic!"
  • "By far my favorite out of all the Bath & Body Works body mists! It's bright, citrus-y, and fresh. It's a fabulous place to start if you think you'd like Clinique but aren't ready to take the $100 plunge."
  • "This smells so much like the Clinique scent, I'd probably mix the two up in a blind smell test."

Rating: 9.3/10

Notes: Ruby berries, sugared rosebuds, and blush amber

Inspired by: Parfums de Marly Delina

Editor reviews:

  • "I'm a known rose fragrance hater, but to be honest I really love this. It's fresh and flowery and classic and I love how it dries down."
  • "It smells exactly like the alleged designer scent!"
  • "Nice and fresh, a scent for rose lovers."
