Outdoor sheds happen to be one of our favorite topics. Not, like, at cocktail parties, but certainly in the Good Housekeeping office. While they typically serve as extra storage for things like large tools, lawn equipment, and in my case, holiday decorations, folks are thinking outside of the (literal) box these days. They’re creating dreamy “she sheds”—think space to get lost in crafting or curl up with a good novel. (P.S. Join our book club!)
Retailers like Amazon and Wayfair offer a treasure trove of options. There’s this pretty $300 structure with a built-in pergola, and check out this tiny cottage that looks just like it was plucked from the set of Gilmore Girls.
The last one that caught my eye? This 8' x 8' beauty that would fit nicely in the yard (or compound) of a Disney Princess. After all, what says fairy tale more than a good-looking spot to store all of your gadgets and gizmos?
Equal parts charming and functional, it features decorative shutters, the loveliest flower box I ever did see, and a spacious 64-square-foot interior with wide double doors for easy access. It comes ready to assemble with precut wood, and you can customize the paint colors and the roofing material. Personally, I’d lean all the way pastel, but that’s just me.
