Happy Meals are one of the best parts of childhood. Sure, they come with smaller versions of McDonald’s classic menu items, but the real excitement has always been the surprise toy tucked inside.
For many fans, those toys become childhood keepsakes—and sometimes even collectibles. To this day, one of my favorite Happy Meal toy collections was McDonald’s collaboration with the Smurfs (I was lucky enough to get all of my favorites). Now, the fast-food chain is bringing together two beloved childhood franchises with its latest collaboration: Hello Kitty and Godzilla.
At first glance, the adorable Hello Kitty and her friends might seem like an unlikely match for the fearsome monsters of the Godzilla universe. But the mashup works surprisingly well, with the Sanrio characters dressed up as some of Godzilla’s most recognizable monsters.
The collection features eight mashup toys: Hello Kitty x Godzilla, Kuromi x Mechagodzilla, My Melody x Mothra, Keroppi x King Ghidorah, Pompompurin x Gigan, Badtz-Maru x Rodan, Chococat x SpaceGodzilla, and Cinnamoroll x Destoroyah.
When will the Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal be available?
The McDonald’s Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal is available starting August 18, 2026, at participating locations. If you’re hoping to collect all eight toys, you’ll want to act fast—the toys are available while supplies last.
