Instead of using backyard sheds as storage space for gardening tools and seasonal decor, some people have been utilizing them as mini private retreats and reading rooms (genius, I know). While looking for the best sheds out there, we found one at Costco that’s on sale… and it’s almost too good to pass up.
It’s called the Wimberly Wood Storage Shed from Yardline, and it comes as a kit that you can build yourself (realistically, you might need at least one buddy to help you). It’s normally $4,000, but you can get it for $1,000 off until May 31.
I’ve, personally, come across a ton of similar sheds these past few years—and I’ve seen them at upwards of $15,000 to $20,000. So while it’s still an investment, this is definitely one of the better deals I’ve seen.
The Wimberly shed is 12 feet long by 10 feet wide, and it stands 8 feet tall, according to the brand. Don’t be intimidated, though: Costco includes curbside delivery with this purchase, which saves you the hassle of mounting it on your car or truck and loading it home.
One nifty feature? For extra security and privacy, you can lock the doors, and you get the keys with your purchase.
And if you actually wanted to use the Wimberly solely as a reading shed, you’ll get an impressive amount of light. On one side, you’ll have three windows lined up alongside each other. According to the brand, they actually open and close—offering airflow when desired. You’ll also get three transom windows above these ones, as well as two more on top of the doors.
Putting it together may be a challenge, but the kit knocks off some pressure with pre-cut wood and pre-assembled doors. You also get how-to videos and a printed manual with instructions.
According the product description, this shed may require a permit, so make sure to look into your local city laws before purchasing. Also, it probably goes without saying, but you’ll need to be a Costco member to buy this shed (and if you’re not a member, you can sign up for a Costco membership here).
