The Vacation Tip That Could Save You Money on Nice Hotels

Summer's quickly approaching—and if you haven’t booked a vacation yet, here's a timely reason why you should. Now through June 1, Hilton (which owns brands like Embassy Suites by Hilton, Waldorf Astoria, and the Conrad) is discounting most of its hotel rooms worldwide by up to 20% for stays through January 10, 2027.

Hilton Honors members score the biggest savings (including up to 25% off hotel stays across Asia-Pacific), but even non-members can nab 15% off. Since the loyalty program is free to join, you might as well sign up and land the extra savings. If your plans change, you can cancel without penalty as long as you do so with at least two weeks' notice.

You can search for participating hotels by location, but brace yourself because the list is vast. It includes many Good Housekeeping favorites, like the Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton in San Diego, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya in Mexico, and Hilton Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort. All three of these resorts have won Good Housekeeping Travel Awards, which means our team evaluated them for room quality, service, food, activities and much more.

With a stunning cliffside location and two- and three-bedroom villas, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is especially appealing for larger family groups.

Even if you’re not ready yet to commit to a big trip, you can still take advantage of the deal. During a similar sale last year, I booked hotel rooms for a wedding, college move-out, and a few other family occasions. Doing so ended up saving me hundreds of dollars! Trust me, now is the time to sit with your calendar and review what short stays you’ll need in the next six months.

I'm going to make a list and then search the Hilton brands like Home2Suites, Graduate by Hilton, or Hampton Inn & Suites that are tailor-made for these kinds of events. I’m a particular fan of the Graduate by Hilton brand because each location is themed after a nearby university. They’re perfect for college visits (we stayed in one when my daughter toured University of Wisconsin) or even class reunions. Of all the Graduates I’ve visited, I think the Nashville location has the best vibes!
