As someone who covers sales for a living and only shops the really good deals, I can assure you that Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale should not be skipped.

I already see a handful of high-quality brands discounted—and because the sale ends on August 9, we have a little less than two weeks to shop. This is truly the best time to snag pieces for fall, and if you’re a smart shopper, you’ll also use this sale to stock up on holiday presents while they’re discounted.

Some spoilers include a GH-beloved silk pillowcase, comfortable PJs, the perfect Barbour jacket for autumn, and even beauty favorites from Charlotte Tilbury and Le Labo.

There’s a lot to go through, so I curated the below list to just 13 picks our editors are personally shopping.

SHOP NORDSTROM’S ANNIVERSARY SALE

Blissy is incredibly viral, but the brand holds more weight than just a trendy moment. This top-tested pillowcase is made from 100% pure mulberry silk, and our pros named it the best silk option for hair.

“I have been sleeping on the same Blissy pillowcases for the last six years (in my regular pillowcase rotation), and the material still looks and feels nicer than other silk I've tried, with just minimal fading,” says Home & Apparel Reviews Analyst Amanda Constantine.

Senior Lifestyle Commerce Manager Mackenzie Dunn says she purchased these Blondo boots for the upcoming cooler months. “The anniversary sale is one of the best times to get great fall and winter dressing staples, and I’ve needed to invest in a pair of trusty waterproof lug sole boots for some time now. I know these will last me and be super practical, so it’s a win-win,” she says.

Le Labo isn’t cheap (a 1.7-ounce bottle will run you $250), but during the sale, you can get a 1-ounce bottle for $180 (according to Nordstrom, this is a $230 value). Our Beauty Lab pros named it one of the best perfumes for women, and it’s part of my personal scent rotation. I like that it’s minimal, unisex, and easily recognizable.

"I've been eyeing these classic penny loafers for a year (the Mary Jane kind, too),” says Director of Editorial Commerce Brie Schwartz. “Since the chunkier version I have are so comfortable, I think this is officially my sign to invest in what's poised to be fall's trendiest shoe.”

“These are my absolute favorite pajamas of all time—they're super soft, lightweight, and come in a bunch of cute colors and patterns,” says Shopping Editor Lauren Gruber. “I love that they have that classic menswear-inspired look without feeling stiff or restrictive. I've had my pair for three years, and they still look as good as new.”

Senior Contributing Editor Kim Forrest says that while her 11-year-old daughter tends to be picky about her clothes, she found Zella clothing super soft and comfy. “The sweatshirt has been a mainstay in her closet for years. I keep buying them in the next size up as she grows because she's so obsessed!”

Associate Director of the GH Textiles Lab Emma Seymour owns and loves these Speedcat sneakers (as do I). “Whenever I wear my Speedcats, I am guaranteed to get at least one compliment,” she says. “I love the sleek style that looks great with everything from skirts to jeans. I have a narrow foot and find they fit great, but they would likely be a snug fit for someone with a wider foot.”

Schwartz says that Barbour jackets almost never go on sale, so if you’re a Barbour fan, you’ll want to hop on this one. “I’ve had the more traditional, Kate Middleton-coded one for nearly a decade,” she says. It’s “held up exceptionally well through the years (especially after a recent rewax), so now I'm adding this trendy, cropped version to my closet.”

Schwartz goes on, “I love that it comes with an attached hood—usually you have to pay extra for that.”

GH Institute Beauty Lab Director Sabina Wizemann loves the packaging of Touchland hand sanitizer, saying it reminds her of a perfume bottle. I’m definitely stocking up on this deal, because I like to keep one in my car, my husband’s car, and my purse!

Schwartz also found this cardigan, and I am obsessed. “Fair isle and fall go together like cider and, well, whatever you're spiking it with,” she says. “This cardi is definitely a splurge, but I know just I'll get tons of use out of it (or at least that's what I'm telling myself).”

“I've tried at least 30 different mascaras through the years from designer wands to under-$10 drugstore staples, and this happens to me in my top two (the other is Maybelline Falsies),” says Schwartz. “I've never seen it on sale before, so I'm about to bundle and save.”

Coola is a sunscreen brand beloved by the Beauty Lab. This is my favorite way to apply SPF to hard-to-reach places like my back, arms, and legs. It sprays light and doesn’t feel heavy on my skin.

“I'm a sucker for pointelle knit (another key fall trend),” shares Schwartz. “For $30, it's the perfect transitional piece.” We love the pleated ruffles at the bottom, and it also comes in white.
