One of my favorite times of day is after dinner, once the kitchen is clean, and I can settle on the couch with a book (OK, it’s a Kindle if I’m being honest) and kick my feet up. In the fall and winter, I almost always light a candle too. And unfortunately for my budget, I tend to gravitate toward the pricier ones.

SHOP MORE AMAZON PRIME DAY DEALS

So when I see my favorites on sale, I stock up. And right now, many of my go-to picks for the cozy season ahead are up to 34% off for Amazon Prime Day. Here are the deals I’m excited to shop. And remember, most of these sales end at midnight tonight, so if one strikes your fancy, grab it.

Can’t-miss candle deals:

Best deal: Yankee Candle Macintosh $25 $17

Best for fall: Snif Half Baked Apple Cider Smash $46 $37

Best for winter: Tocca Chamonix $48 $38

What it smells like: Fresh apple peel, crisp greens, and a hint of musk.

When our editors sniffed dozens of Yankee Candles last year to find the ultimate fall scent, this one stood out. I’m obsessed with apple candles in the fall, so it’s my personal favorite. Many of Yankee Candle’s jar candles are more than 20% off today, so even if you’re not Team Apple, you can find another scent on sale.

What it smells like: Sparkling cider, Honeycrisp apple, sweet donut, musk, and Orcanox.

The only thing better than a regular apple in the fall is an apple cider donut. This candle can be strong—like standing inside a bakery at an orchard—so I’d burn it in a larger space. If you come to my house for Thanksgiving, this is what you’ll smell when you walk in.

What it smells like: Rosemary and pine.

This is the winter candle I light when I’m having people over and want something that looks and smells fabulous. My fiancé loves to ski and adores the art on the sticker, and I’m all for it because it smells like après-ski in the Alps. Pine trees galore!

What it smells like: Sandalwood, amber, cedar, violet leaves, and vetiver.

I’ve been a fan of this brand’s bodycare products for a while, and while I haven’t tried this exact candle yet, I can tell you that the body wash and hand cream versions of this scent smell incredible. Subtle and expensive, like a warm hug from your bestie who always has the coolest perfumes.

What it smells like: Moss, lavender, sage, orange, lavandin, amber, and musk.

I find P.F. Candle Co’s amber-colored jars the definition of cozy. This earthy scent practically blends in with the fresh fall air, with just a touch more warmth. I keep it going in the powder room at parties, but it’s also a relaxing candle to light after a Sunday reset.

What it smells like: Wild pumpkin, masala chai, cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon.

I sometimes find pumpkin candles a little too overwhelming and, quite frankly, too obvious. But with the added chai and ginger notes, this one is totally sophisticated. Plus, the orange vessel casts a pretty glow when the sun goes down. Many of NEST’s other scents are also 20% off for Prime Day.

What it smells like: Vintage cedarwood, pine, and tooled leather.

Hotel Lobby models its candles after luxury hotels, and in the winter, there’s nothing I want my home to smell like more than an Aspen lobby. The leather notes add a ton of depth here—give it a sniff, and next thing you know you’ll be shaking up a Penicillin and melting into your sofa. The brand has other candles 20% off for Prime Day too.

What it smells like: Sandalwood, smoky leather, frankincense, Virginia cedarwood, and pine.

This is one of my favorite everyday candles for fall and winter. It reminds me of being near the woods and catching a whiff of a neighbor’s fire. LAFCO’s hand-blown glass vessels are stunning too. I keep my makeup brushes in one that I cleaned out years ago.

What it smells like: Italian bergamot, golden amber, and smoked mahogany.

WoodWick is a sister brand to Yankee Candle, and its candles feature—you guessed it—wooden wicks. I gave this one to my parents last Christmas after they moved and started missing their fireplace. It’s not an exact match—the scent is a little sweeter—but it comes close. The crackling wick adds to the cozy feel, too.

What it smells like: White tulip, vanilla, and espresso.

I wouldn’t say I’m in my vanilla era—the gourmand scent is often too sweet for me—but this candle feels like a more grown-up take. (The coffee and amber notes do a lot of heavy lifting.) Light it for girls’ night, and someone will almost certainly ask where it’s from.
