Attention, home cooks, there's a critical recall you need to know about before you go to prep your next meal.
On March 19, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall for Electrolux gas ranges sold under the Frigidaire brand name. Here's what you need to know about the recall, and what to do if you have one of these ranges in your home.
What is being recalled?
Electrolux is recalling about 174,800 gas ranges sold under the Frigidaire name. The ranges were sold across the nation at stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s, as well as online, between June 2025 and January 2026. (Note: A small number, 5,300, were also sold in Canada.) They retailed between $630 and $2,700.

The models also all fall within the serial number range VF52200000 through VF54399999.
Consumers can find the model and serial numbers printed on a nameplate located in the drawer beneath the oven.
Why are the ranges being recalled?
According to the CPSC, the ranges can experience delayed ignition when using the oven’s bake burner, which poses a burn risk.
How many injuries have been reported to date?
The CPSC noted that it and the manufacturer are aware of 62 reports of the range malfunctioning, "including 30 reports of burn injuries."
What should I do if I have one of these ranges in my home?
Those who have one in their home are instructed not to use the oven until the company can come and do an in-home repair. However, until then, the CPSC explained that consumers can "continue to use the cooktop burners on the range."
Those who need to arrange a repair can contact Electrolux Group at 866-291-7633, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or by email at [email protected]. You can also see more, including images of each of the ranges to check if yours is impacted, at ema-recall.com.
