Hallmark star Lacey Chabert has been married to her husband, David Nehdar, since December 2013.
The two have a daughter, Julia, who was born in September 2016.
Lacey spoke out about why she prefers to keep her marriage under wraps.
Lacey Chabert has been a staple on Hallmark for quite some time, starring in numerous films and TV shows. Most recently, she starred in Paris Is Always a Good Idea on Hallmark+. But while she may be in the public eye, she is adamant about keeping her life with her husband, David Nehdar, private.
So, who exactly is Lacey's partner? The two have been together for over a decade, and not much is known about how they first met. In fact, folks first learned Lacey was in a relationship when she announced on X that she had gotten married in December 2013.
"Just wanted to share some personal news with you guys," she wrote in a series of Tweets in January 2014. "I'm starting off 2014 as a Mrs! Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life ... we became husband & wife! #soblessed #love."
Although Lacey didn't divulge many details at the time, she did share a little bit about how David proposed to her on Home and Family in October 2019. She said that since she's normally hard to surprise, it threw her off that she had no clue about the engagement.
"So there I am, so shocked and surprised that I literally don’t know what’s going on until he’s on one knee actually saying the words 'Will you marry me?'" she said at the time. "I’m like, ‘What are you doing? A box? You weren’t supposed to buy me jewelry; we’re going to save money!’ He’s like, ‘Just be quiet.’ Of course, we’re both crying."
As for the nuptials themselves, Lacey shared key moments about the day with the BUILD Series. She revealed that she previously wore her wedding dress in a Hallmark Christmas movie, and that her sister Chrissy Chabert Taylor was her maid of honor. And while there were no photos of both her and David, she did share one key behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram.
In September 2016, the Mean Girls alum gave birth to the couple's only child, daughter Julia. She shared the announcement on Instagram.
"#TBT to the best day of my life. One week ago I became a mom to this precious angel. Julia Mimi Bella 💗," she wrote at the time. "Julia, you are my heart's deepest dream come true. I love you more than I could ever say. Welcome to this big beautiful world sweet girl!"
Since then, Lacey has mostly kept her life with Julia and David private. But she does love to tease fans with cute moments between them, especially when it comes to Julia. When Lacey appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in January 2022, she shared the story of how Julia discovered she played Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls.
"[Julia] goes, 'Mommy, I didn't know you were Gretchen Wieners. Did you know that was your name?'" she said, according to People. "It's so funny even hearing that name come out of her mouth."
Additionally, when talking about her marriage, Lacey noted that there’s a good reason why fans don’t see David alongside her in public.
“I don’t post pictures of us [on social media],” she explained on the LadyGang podcast in July 2026. “I’ll post pictures with other friends and guy friends, and people are always like, ‘Is that him?’—like it’s some conspiracy. He just wants to stay out of it, and I’m like, ‘You know what? Okay.’”
Lacey also noted a secret for making sure her relationship flourishes. “Dave and I’ve definitely been through things, and you have to work through it,” she added. “It’s not great every single day, but you love each other. And I think when you do have friendship as a foundation, hopefully that’s something you can always fall back on.”
No matter the case, Lacey and David always make sure their lives center around Julia and what works for their family. As the Party of Five alum confirmed to the BUILD Series in March 2017, she makes sure to choose projects that allow them to be together, depending on their schedules.
"[Julia's] the most important thing, and it’s not only about my marriage but also what works for the family and the baby," she stated at the time. "I am lucky that my job allows me to bring her to set with me, which is really nice."
