Former Food Network star Katie Lee Biegel announced an important project tied to the 25th anniversary of September 11.

Katie’s production company, Montalto Pictures, is involved in a new documentary, Top of the World, about the Windows on the World restaurant at the top of the North Tower.

The documentary airs on September 7 on CNN and will stream on the CNN app the next day.

Over the years, fans have known the TV personality for her culinary expertise on The Kitchen and other Food Network shows. But Katie also runs a production company, Montalto Pictures, with her husband Ryan Biegel.

As Deadline reported on August 11, Katie and Ryan’s production company is involved in a new CNN Films and TIME Studios documentary called Top of the World, produced in association with Tribeca Studios and Storyville Films, along with Montalto Pictures.

The movie tells the story of Windows on the World, the famed restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. The film draws on Tom Roston’s book The Most Spectacular Restaurant in the World. Top of the World premieres on September 7, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CNN, then streams on the CNN app the next day.

“Before 9/11, Windows on the World was more than a restaurant,” read the caption on the Instagram trailer. “It was a symbol of New York and a community of people from around the world who built lives there. 25 years later, their stories live on in CNN Films’ Top of the World.”

When viewers saw Katie’s new project, they took to the comments to share their own memories.

“Special memories there. May those lost rest in peace. 🙏,” one person wrote in the comments. “Windows was so beautiful. With the anniversary coming up my heart breaks. Feels like yesterday. 💔,” another penned. “It just gives me chills, we have not forgotten ✌️❤️,” a different follower added.

CNN’s official press release included a quote from Katien.

“Ryan and I read Tom Roston’s The Most Spectacular Restaurant in the World when it was released in 2019, and from that moment on, we were determined to bring this remarkable story to the screen,” she said, according to Variety. “Windows on the World represented so much of New York City’s spirit, and the history of Windows, in many ways, mirrored that of the city itself. The stories featured in this documentary are emotional and inspiring ... We are incredibly proud to be partnering with CNN on this project.”
