Things are looking a little different on Halloween Baking Championship.
The latest season of the Food Network show premiered on September 14, and viewers are ready to watch the contestants create their spookiest desserts in a bid for the $25,000 prize. While folks are used to seeing Zac Young and Stephanie Boswell at the judges’ panel, chef Aarti Sequeira has taken Carla Hall’s place on the show.
So, what happened to Carla, and where is she on Halloween Baking Championship?
Why is Carla Hall not on Halloween Baking Championship?
On August 13, Carla took to Instagram to announce that she would no longer appear on Halloween Baking Championship.
“The end of an era for me,” she wrote in the caption alongside a montage of her most iconic costumes. “Thank you Halloween Baking. 🫡✌🏽.”
Fans were devastated by the news of Carla’s exit.
“Halloween season is now ruined. 😢,” one person cried out. “It won’t be the same without you!! You’ll be missed dearly 😩👻🖤,” another agreed. “This is devastating news 😭,” a different follower added.
Zac and Stephanie sent their well wishes to Carla.
“Leaving some big old clown shoes to fill, my Love,” Zac wrote. “Thank you for making HBC into a sweet playground, for always saying, ‘yes, and…’, for every muddled accent, for the dance parties, the bakers whose lives you’ve changed, for the ticks and the treats and for being everyone’s Boo. Ordering a chicken Caesar for you tonight.”
“😭 Work just isn't going to be the same without you,” Stephanie added. “Thank you for not only being an incredible colleague, but also a truly wonderful friend. I’m going to miss our chats, your endless support, and the energy you brought to the team every single day. Wishing you nothing but absolute success and happiness—the world is so lucky to have you!”
What is Carla Hall doing now?
While it’s unclear why Carla left Halloween Baking Championship, we do know that she is busy with other projects.
Along with sharing food content on social media, Carla released her new cookbook, Carla Bakes, on September 8. She also completed a book tour to promote the new work.
“Yesterday was a whirlwind!” she wrote on Instagram on September 9. “Thank you all for spending yesterday celebrating with me. I can’t express how much your support means and I can’t wait to see what you bake! Now go have some fun in your kitchens! And remember to cook with confidence, cook with joy, but most importantly, cook with love. ❤️.”
We’ll definitely miss Carla this season!
